Ah, Gorse Hill – it's one of those pubs that really comes alive on match days, isn't it? From what I've gathered, the vibe is spot on with friendly locals chatting away and a great atmosphere that pulls you in. The beer's affordably priced with a decent selection, and the staff are on top form, especially when it's busy, making sure you're served up quick as you like. It's clean and tidy too, which always makes a difference for a relaxed evening. On the downside, if you're not there for a game, it can feel a tad underwhelming, like it's just ticking over rather than thriving. And let's be honest, the lack of WiFi and patchy phone signal might leave you a bit isolated if you're used to scrolling through your phone, plus no Sky Sports means it's not the go-to spot for catching all the big matches. Overall, it's a solid choice for footie fans or a quick pint with mates, but worth keeping in mind for what it offers best.

Cons
-

It doesn't quite shine on non-match days, feeling a bit quiet or unremarkable when there's no game on.

No WiFi and dodgy phone reception can make it tricky if you need to stay connected.

They don't show Sky Sports on the TVs, which might disappoint if you're after more than just the local matches.

Great atmosphere, reasonably priced beer and friendly locals.
Would definitely drink here again 👌🏽
Great pub especially match days great landlady Claire x
Only been on a match day. It’s fine for somewhere to go for a quick pint before or after the game. Wouldn’t be caught dead in there any other time. Staff are all nice in my experience. No wifi. Barely get a phone reception. No Sky Sports games on the TVs.
Attended a reggae night. The pub looks good. Nice & clean. Bar staff attentive.
Didn't have food.
Decent to visit on match day. Loads of staff on so quick service. Good choice of beer.
