About This Pub

Ah, Gorse Hill – it's one of those pubs that really comes alive on match days, isn't it? From what I've gathered, the vibe is spot on with friendly locals chatting away and a great atmosphere that pulls you in. The beer's affordably priced with a decent selection, and the staff are on top form, especially when it's busy, making sure you're served up quick as you like. It's clean and tidy too, which always makes a difference for a relaxed evening. On the downside, if you're not there for a game, it can feel a tad underwhelming, like it's just ticking over rather than thriving. And let's be honest, the lack of WiFi and patchy phone signal might leave you a bit isolated if you're used to scrolling through your phone, plus no Sky Sports means it's not the go-to spot for catching all the big matches. Overall, it's a solid choice for footie fans or a quick pint with mates, but worth keeping in mind for what it offers best.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant, with friendly locals that make you feel right at home.
  • Beer's reasonably priced and there's a good selection to choose from, perfect for a casual pint.
  • It's spot on for match days – quick service with plenty of staff on hand to keep things flowing.
  • The place is nice and clean, and the bar staff are really attentive, making your visit smooth and enjoyable.
Cons
  • It doesn't quite shine on non-match days, feeling a bit quiet or unremarkable when there's no game on.
  • No WiFi and dodgy phone reception can make it tricky if you need to stay connected.
  • They don't show Sky Sports on the TVs, which might disappoint if you're after more than just the local matches.

Only been on a match day. It’s fine for somewhere to go for a quick pint before or after the game. Wouldn’t be caught dead in there any other time. Staff are all nice in my experience. No wifi. Barely get a phone reception. No Sky Sports games on the TVs.
