About This Pub
Ah, the Goose in Wolverhampton – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway in the heart of the city centre, you know? I've got to say, what really stands out is how wallet-friendly everything is; you can grab a pint without breaking the bank, and the staff are always on point with their quick service and warm smiles, making it easy to settle in for a chat or catch up with mates. They're ace for sports fans too, with plenty of screens showing everything from football to boxing, so it's a top choice if you're up for some excitement during the big games. Plus, they've got these lovely community touches, like the Thursday gatherings for the deaf community and a fun quiz night that keeps things entertaining. On the flip side, though, it does get a tad rowdy at times, particularly when the matches are on, and that big, open layout might feel a bit impersonal if you're after a snug corner to relax in. Oh, and it's a shame they don't do food, but hey, that's just an excuse to grab a bite from nearby and bring it along. All in all, it's a solid spot for a casual night out – worth a visit if you're in the area, but maybe plan around the quieter evenings for the best experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer here is incredibly affordable, making it one of the best value spots in Wolverhampton for a pint or two.
-
Service is always quick and the staff are super friendly, which really makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in.
-
It's brilliant for watching live sports with loads of big screens and projectors, so there's always something exciting on offer.
-
They've got a great community vibe, like the regular meet-ups for the deaf community, and fun events such as quizzes on Wednesdays.
-
The real ales are top-notch, and they've got that Cask Marque accreditation, so you know you're in for a quality drink.
Cons
-
It can get pretty noisy, especially on match nights when things ramp up and it might feel a bit overwhelming.
-
The place has a large, barn-like feel, which isn't everyone's cup of tea if you're after something more cosy and intimate.
-
They don't serve any food, so you'll have to pop out or bring your own snacks if you're planning to stay a while.

A cheap pub where the deaf community meet up every Thursday evening.
Service always quick. Not the busiest on a Thursday so plenty of room.
Different TV's around the place with different sports on, so something for everybody.
Beer very cheap! One of the cheapest around.
Can have lovely ales kept and served well, plus cheap.
Usually up tempo but can be very noisy on match nights and certain other times, take it as it comes, just had to get out if there last time one bloke loudly clapping to the beat.
The team here are always happy and friendly, service is always quick. Prices are really cheap for a pub in the middle of town. The quiz is really fun on a Wednesday
Lovely pub in wolves city centre, quick service even on a busy match day. All the staff are super polite and sweet - Simon and Becky were great and helpful. The prices here are great too, especially compared to some nearby pubs. It's a must to visit. And while they don't serve food here, no-one had any issues with me bringing my own food here.
Albrecht told us that this was a Cask Marque oub. One real ale, Hobgoblin. Good pint but not a pub to my liking. A large barn like bar.
