About This Pub
Ah, the Goat Tavern—it's one of those places that just feels like a proper London hideaway, you know? Tucked away in Kensington, this 18th-century spot has that classic pub charm with its historic roots, and it's clear from the buzz that folks really love it. The food's a real highlight; we've got hearty dishes like duck and macaroni cheese that hit the spot, plus loads of options for veggies or those skipping the booze, so it's great if you're out with a mixed crowd. Service-wise, the team seems genuinely friendly and efficient, making sure everything runs smoothly without any faff. It's spot on for families or even if you're with your dog, and being right near Hyde Park means it's perfect for a refreshing break after a wander. On the flip side, it does get busy in this lively area, so you might have to dodge a few crowds if you go at peak times, and the prices are a bit on the moderate side, which adds up if you're planning a full evening. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a good time—honestly, I'd say give it a go if you're in the area; you'll likely leave with a smile and maybe even a story or two about the place's regal history.

Convenient place to eat after walking through Hyde Park. Fun decor. Seemed to be very popular, but we were able to grab a table for our family of 5 at 4pm easily. Overall very decent food, which came quickly and enough variety that our picky kids found things to eat. Lots of good non-alcoholic options, too.
The Goat Tavern is friendly, cozy and welcoming. The food is tasty and just the thing for a fun lunch or mid-afternoon break. We had the house salad with halloumi and the macaroni and cheese, washed down with a couple of pints of Camden Hells. Yummm!
We were staying right across the street at the Royal Gardens Hotel and decided to check if there were any tables available—and we’re so glad we did! Gabby was super helpful and got us a reservation right away.
We came with our six-year-old and had an awesome time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the fact that the tavern is over 300 years old just added to the charm.
We ordered the steak, hamburger, mac and cheese, and sticky toffee pudding. Honestly, if we could do it over again, we’d all get the mac and cheese—it was that good! And the sticky toffee pudding? Let’s just say no one wanted to share.
For drinks, we had Guinness on tap and the Alsap Cider, which was absolutely outstanding. Top it all off with fantastic customer service, and you've got a place we’d 100% recommend if you’re in the area. Cheers to a great experience!
Incredible food! Marvelous service! Everything was made perfect and hot! I had the duck and loved it! Great selections! Their weekly specials are lovely as well. I booked for the wrong goat and they had no problem accommodating us!
The Chicken Sharer was so yummy. The place has a special ambiance. The owner was so nice. It’s just across Kensington Park right next to Big Bus Station 34
