About This Pub

Ah, the Glassworks in Stourbridge – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it with others, it's brilliant for a relaxed day out; picture yourself wandering over from the nearby canal for a hearty lunch or to catch up with mates over a well-poured ale. The food really shines with its generous portions and classics done right, and those little perks like the 30% off deals make it even more inviting for a budget-friendly treat. Plus, being so family-oriented with play areas and a menu for the little ones, it's a breath of fresh air if you're out with kids or even your furry companion. On the flip side, though, it's not without its quirks – I've heard a few tales of food not always looking as appetising as it could, or perhaps not quite matching up to memories of previous visits, which might leave you a tad disappointed if you're expecting perfection. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good time, but like any spot, it's worth going in with realistic expectations to enjoy what it does best without sweating the small stuff.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is top-notch, with a great selection of pub classics, burgers, and sharers that always hit the spot – it's reliably tasty and they've got some cracking deals like 30% off mains to make it even more appealing.
  • Service is warm and attentive; the staff really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for a meal.
  • It's a fantastic family-friendly spot with a kids' menu and play areas, plus it's dog-friendly, so you can bring the whole gang along.
  • The atmosphere is lovely, especially after their recent updates, and the pub garden is a real treat for enjoying a sunny day with drinks and snacks outdoors.
  • Conveniently located near the canal, it's an ideal place for a casual catch-up with friends or a relaxed lunch, and they often have events on to keep things lively.
Cons
  • There have been a few grumbles about food presentation not always living up to expectations, like sides feeling a bit underwhelming compared to past visits.
  • It can be a shame if you turn up and find it closed when you least expect it, as timings might vary, so it's worth checking ahead.
  • While most experiences are positive, the occasional slip in consistency means it might not be perfect every time, especially if you're after something a bit more polished.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting, but it was the exceptional service provided by Leanne that truly made my visit memorable. Her warm smile and attentive nature immediately set me at ease. It's not just about performing the basic tasks of taking orders and delivering food; it's about creating a genuine connection with customers and anticipating their needs. Leanne's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she was able to offer helpful suggestions and answer all of my questions with patience and clarity. She checked in on me regularly without being intrusive, ensuring that everything was to my liking. It was clear that she took pride in her work and genuinely cared about providing a positive experience for her customers. In conclusion, Leanne's outstanding service elevated my dining experience from ordinary to extraordinary. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care for her customers are qualities that are rare and truly appreciated.

Really nice food here! Always love coming here for some reliably good pub food. The atmosphere is even better now it’s been done up and they often have deals on the food, such as 30% off or deals for each day of the week.

in reply to your comments .. 1)The san miguel photos you mentioned were posted 2 years ago.. [clue on photo - says posted *2 years ago] No mistake, im no liar! but I'm glad you pointed this out as you can see the difference in how it was presented then, to this years sad effort. 2) sides - a couple of mins late ??? more like 15 mins. photos shown are date/timed stamped. 3) A couple of rounds of drinks??? correction - you offered one, after we had just bought a round, but when we requested the complimentary drinks later, we got questioned like we were trying to steal the crown jewells. and as for calling you to discuss these matters, how about you call me. I'm still waiting for an apology.
