About This Pub
You know, I recently popped into the Fox on Hampton Lane, and it's one of those places that just leaves you with a smile – it's got that warm, neighbourhood feel without being too fussy. The food really stands out; it's all about simple, seasonal ingredients done to perfection, like those elegant dishes that make you savour every bite. I love how they've created such a calming space with natural decor and a lovely terrace for when the weather's on your side. The team there are absolute stars, always going the extra mile to make sure everything's just right, whether it's handling dietary tweaks or just a friendly chat. On the flip side, it's a cosy spot, so it fills up fast and you'll definitely want to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Plus, with food made fresh to order, you might wait a little longer than at a chain pub, but trust me, it's worth it for the quality. All in all, it's a fantastic choice if you're after a proper good night out in Solihull – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself; it's got that special something that keeps you coming back.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely stunning – fresh, seasonal, and with a simple yet elegant touch that feels almost Michelin-inspired, making every meal a real treat.
-
The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing, with natural decor and cool vibes that create a calm space, perfect for a chilled evening or a sunny lunch on the garden terrace.
-
Service is top-notch; the team is friendly and attentive, always happy to accommodate dietary needs or special requests.
-
Great value for money, especially when compared to other spots nearby – you get quality without breaking the bank.
-
It's a welcoming neighbourhood spot supporting local independents, with outdoor seating that adds a nice touch on warmer days.
Cons
-
As it's a small venue, it can get booked up quickly, so you'll need to plan ahead and secure your spot with card details.
-
Freshly prepared dishes mean there might be a bit of a wait, which is understandable but could be a minor downside if you're in a rush.
-
Larger groups or special events require direct contact, which might feel a tad inconvenient if you're organising something bigger.

Excellent, the best restaurant I have been to and the best meal I have had out for a long time. I appreciate the effort that was made and it was nice to have something a little different. I think for freshly prepared food you need to expect to wait a little longer. The restaurant is nicely presented. Much appreciated, thank you.
What a lovely evening!
Beautiful restaurant with excellent service and quality food and wine. Not extravagantly priced and very comparable with the pub prices 'over the road 😉' if you know where I mean. It's definitely worth a visit. We will be back to try the breakfast menu 😊
Absolutely stunning food. Wish I had more pictures but we enjoyed it too much!! Cannot wait to come back when the menu rotates. Beautiful and peacefully decorated restaurant with a simple but almost Michelin style approach to their food. So glad we found this place. It will become a place on our rotation for sure. We had a 3 course meal and shared it all because we couldn’t choose. Thank you so much for a gorgeous meal and wonderful service.
This is our first visit here and it won’t be our last. We absolutely love it here! The atmosphere outside and under the pergola is very pleasant indeed. We came for Sunday lunch and the food is cooked and presented to absolute perfection and all the flavours work very well together. If you’re looking for somewhere new to go, this place is well worth driving to, even if it’s well out of your way. Overall, an outstanding experience!
(2 course £37, 3 course £42)
Booked in for Sunday Lunch and glad I did its a fantastic place with great staff run by Helen who knows how to run a restaurant.
It's not a massive restaurant but it's very cosy and the decor is really relaxing and done lovely. It also has a lovely decking area with a pagoda over it with heaters which is perfect for small gatherings like a baby shower like the one that was being held on the day I was there.
We had a two course Sunday lunch which was very tasty and served by friendly staff. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and covered in grave which topped it off a treat.
Will definitely be back again and would highly recommend this little gem.
