About This Pub

Ah, the Four Isles in Airdrie – it's one of those local gems that really pulls you in with its warm, community-focused atmosphere, especially if you're popping in for a function or just to catch up with friends over a beer or a glass of wine. I love how the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome; they're friendly and full of character, which adds to that proper pub charm. Plus, with options like bar games and live music, there's always something to keep the evening buzzing, and it's all at a price that's easy on the wallet. It's accessible too, which is brilliant for making sure no one gets left out. On the flip side, though, the place does feel a bit outdated in spots – think peeling paint and a building that could use some TLC to spruce it up. That might not bother you if you're there for the craic and the company, but it could dampen the first impressions for some. Overall, it's got a solid 4.2 rating from folks who've been, with plenty of rave reviews about the vibe and events, but a few honest gripes about the wear and tear. If you're a pub goer looking for a laid-back spot with heart, I'd say give it a go – just keep your expectations realistic and focus on the good times ahead.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's a cracking spot for functions or a casual night out with friends, with a real community vibe that keeps things lively.
  • Being inexpensive means you can enjoy a pint or a spirit without breaking the bank, which is always a winner.
  • They've got great accessibility features like wheelchair-friendly entrances and toilets, so everyone can join in the fun.
  • Highlights include bar games and live music, adding a bit of excitement to your visit and making it a proper pub experience.
Cons
  • The place feels a tad dated and could do with a freshen-up, as some bits are showing their age and might not impress at first glance.
  • The front of the building is looking a bit worse for wear, which could put you off before you even step inside.
  • From what I've seen, the bar staff can be a bit eccentric or 'mad' at times, which might not suit everyone depending on your mood.
