About This Pub

Ah, the Fieldfare – it's one of those reliable spots in Chorley that you can always count on for a good old pub outing. From what I've gathered, the food really shines with their classic mains and that Sunday carvery, which folks rave about as just the thing for a satisfying meal without any fuss. The staff are a highlight too; they're chatty and attentive, making you feel like you're among friends rather than just another face in the crowd. It's got that warm, inclusive vibe, perfect for families or even bringing along the dog for a pint and a bite. And let's not forget the deals – those 30% off offers make it an absolute bargain, so you can treat yourself more often than not. On the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing; there have been a few grumbles about food not being cooked quite right, like a steak that was underdone or a dish that was a tad too sloppy. Still, with such a positive overall feel from the crowd, it's easy to overlook the odd mishap. If you're after a straightforward, enjoyable pub experience in Chorley, I'd say give it a go – just keep expectations realistic for a casual spot like this.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is spot on for pub grub – think classic meals and a cracking Sunday carvery that hits the spot every time.
  • Staff are absolute gems; they're attentive and make you feel right at home, with mentions of friendly servers like Dylan and Callum adding a personal touch.
  • It's a brilliant spot for families and even your furry friends, being dog-friendly and offering a relaxed vibe for catching up with mates or enjoying a meal outdoors.
  • Value for money is top-notch, especially with those tempting deals like 30% off mains – makes popping in for a bite feel like a proper treat without breaking the bank.
  • The outdoor patio is lovely for sunny afternoons, giving you a chance to soak up the atmosphere in the fresh air.
Cons
  • Food quality can be hit or miss; one diner had a steak that was more raw than requested, which put a dampener on things.
  • There might be the odd slip-up with dishes, like the mac and cheese being a bit overly sauced, so it's worth double-checking orders.
  • As a typical pub, it doesn't offer anything overly fancy, which might not suit those after a more upscale dining experience.

Not been for a while, had a 30% off voucher so paid a visit. Food was to a good standard for pub grub, no complaints there.... served by Dylan and Callum, great lads, attentive and offered good service. Absolute bargain with the voucher, less than a tenner each to eat, but even without, prices are pretty reasonable.

My family and I had a lovely meal at Fieldfare. We haven't eaten here for a few years but after today's experience we will be back. Chrissy, our server was lovely and the other gentleman who served us.

Fantastic food, quick service. Proper priced that we are thinking of dining here daily to do the entire menu. Luke on the bar was so helpful. Dog friendly too. What more can you ask for. Big thumbs up from me and Big Al. 👍🏻

Service was great can’t complain at all. However, I got the Steak Americano and asked for it rare- it must’ve been misunderstood as me asking for it raw because a good vet could’ve brought it back to life. It can’t even pass as blue. Aside from that, my partner got the mac and cheese and it was drowning in BBQ sauce and can only be described as mush. Very good if you’re on the stroke ward, but not great for a Bank Holiday Monday meal.
