About This Pub

Ah, Down-Town Coventry – it's one of those places that really sticks in your mind, isn't it? From the reviews I've seen, the staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which is just what you want on a night out with mates. There are some cracking evenings to be had, particularly mid-week, with live singers belting out tunes that get the whole room buzzing and plenty of opportunities to make new friends over a pint. It's clearly a favourite for some who've been going for years, which speaks volumes about the good times on offer. But, let's be straight, it's not all rosy – there are grumbles about the odd bit of trouble, like antisocial carryings-on that give it a bit of a bad name, and the DJ doesn't always hit the mark, leaving gaps in the atmosphere that can kill the mood. Still, if you're after a proper pub experience with its highs and lows, it's worth popping in, just maybe go with a group and keep things light-hearted.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
  • It has a lively atmosphere, especially on Mondays and Thursdays, with great banter and even amazing live entertainment like singers that really get the crowd going
  • It's a fantastic spot to meet new people and have memorable nights out, with some regulars swearing by it for over 20 years
Cons
  • There are reports of antisocial behaviour and a bit of a dodgy reputation, which might put some off
  • The DJ can sometimes disrupt the vibe with major breaks in the flow, not quite tuning into what the crowd wants
  • Folks have mentioned it attracting the wrong sort of crowd at times, with concerns about how it's managed

This is the worst pub in Coventry and its been said by many people, to avoid this place, Reason due to its bad reputation and the place is run by children who act like there still in a playground, the place is well known for antisocial behaviour that attracts the wrong crowd. the owner isn't actually the owner he just leases the place and lies about it. The pub needs a turnover with the correct management and a team with professionalism, until that happens this is a place you should avoid completely.

The DJ is not customer orientated. There are major breaks in the atmosphere due to the fact that he's not connected to the dancefloor. What a shame....
