About This Pub

Ah, Cross Keys Newbury – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot when you're after a proper cosy evening. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place has this inviting atmosphere with open fires and a steampunk-inspired decor that's a real talking point; it's like stepping into a fun, imaginative world without leaving the high street. The food sounds brilliant too – massive portions of tasty dishes like Cuban sandwiches and burgers, paired with excellent cocktails and their own brewed lager, which folks are raving about. Service-wise, it's all smiles and efficiency, making you feel genuinely cared for. On the flip side, the website's a tad underwhelming, just repeating itself without much detail, and it's a shame the opening times aren't straightforward, so you might end up planning around that. Prices are moderate, but those cocktails can sneak up on your wallet if you're not careful. Overall, it's a solid pick for a good night with mates, as long as you go in with realistic expectations – the positives far outweigh the niggles, and I'd say it's worth a visit for anyone in Newbury looking for a bit of character and quality grub.

Popped in for a quick drink on way back to our hotel. Lovely warm and cosy open fire places. Very unusual decor and various ornaments.

Wow this place has had a face-lift! We popped in for a drink after a dinner out and were really impressed with the cool steampunk-ish interior. Service was excellent and we had two cocktails (£19) that looked and tasted fantastic. Will be back soon!

Wow! Best food I’ve eaten out for a very long time. We had the Cuban, the Reuben, Philly cheese steak and Korean loaded fries. Everything was absolutely delicious! Sandwiches were massive and had to bring a bit home. Didn’t last very long though… Staff were lovely and friendly and it was clear that the chef takes so much pride in what is served. Loved the menu and so nice to have something a bit different. Thank you! We will be back soon.
