About This Pub

Ah, Cosy Club in Chester—it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its elegant, throwback decor that feels like a page from The Great Gatsby, all plush and inviting for a relaxed day out or a fun evening. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is spot on; think mouthwatering brunch spreads, cracking sandwiches, and cocktails that go down a treat, with plenty of options for groups to make celebrations memorable. The team there seems genuinely warm and helpful, always up for a chat or a solid recommendation, which adds to that welcoming feel. But, let's be straight, it does have its off moments—like when things get hectic and service drags a bit, or if you're eyeing the bill and wondering if that dish was worth the quid. One chap mentioned feeling a bit ripped off with a pricey meal that didn't deliver, and the noise can ramp up, making it less ideal for a cosy natter. Overall, it's a solid choice for us lot looking for a good time in Chester, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe avoid peak hours for a smoother experience—honestly, it's got that mix of charm and character that keeps you coming back for more.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The decor is absolutely stunning with that Great Gatsby opulence—it's like stepping back in time to a glamorous era, making every visit feel special.
  • The food is a real highlight; from delicious brunch options to standout dishes like the coronation chicken sandwich, it's fresh, tasty, and hits the spot.
  • Staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive, always ready with a recommendation or a smile to make your meal even better.
  • They've got a great selection of cocktails and drinks, perfect for unwinding, plus fun offers like bottomless brunch or cocktail deals.
  • It's a lively spot that's ideal for groups, with a buzzing atmosphere that keeps things entertaining from morning coffee to late-night drinks.
Cons
  • Service can slow down when it's busy, which might mean a bit of a wait even if the staff are trying their best.
  • Some menu items feel a tad overpriced for what you get, like that disappointing £17 meal that left one person feeling short-changed.
  • The place can get quite noisy, especially on evenings, so it might not be the best for a quiet catch-up with mates.
  • Portions or specific dishes might not always live up to expectations, as one review pointed out, which could be a letdown after the hype.

While looking for a place to have lunch, we came across Cosy Club, and it immediately drew us in with its eye-catching Great Gatsby vibe—opulent, vintage decor with a glamorous twist. The stylish lobby and grand staircase set the tone as we made our way up to the main dining area. The place was packed when we arrived, so we were glad we made a reservation. The customer service was top-notch—attentive and welcoming. We requested a table by the window, and the host happily accommodated us. For lunch, we enjoyed the Spanish Chicken, Steak, and Garlic Paprika Prawns—each dish was delicious and well-prepared. We also tried a Mojito and a Negroni, both of which were expertly made and refreshing. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience with a stylish ambiance, great food, and excellent service. We’ll definitely be returning.

Visited this morning for brunch. Food and drink were both lovely but what really stood out was the service! I didn’t get her name, but the waitress who served us (and recommended the iced vanilla matcha latte) was so helpful, lovely and made our visit great. All of the other staff we encountered were also so friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely brunch, Cosy Club!

I recently visited Cost Club and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The coronation chicken sandwich – hands down one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The bread was perfectly toasted, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the creamy, spiced coronation sauce tied it all together beautifully. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you want to come back for more! What made the visit even better was our server, Jessy. She was an absolute gem – friendly, attentive, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Her warm energy really elevated the whole experience. The atmosphere at Cost Club was welcoming, the service was top-notch, and the food was outstanding. Five stars all the way – I’ll definitely be returning soon!

I had quite a poor experience whilst at the Cosy Club. Can't really fault the service or the Bloody Mary and it's not the staffs fault, but for close to £17, I'd expect a lot more than what was put on my plate. It was insulting and I'd be absolutely embarrassed if I had to put what was put down in front of me if I worked there. How they can get away with that is astonishing. Terrible.

Visited on a busy Saturday evening. The food was amazing 🤩 Staff friendly, service a bit slow due to it being busy. Had the best meal out in ages. Venue is quite lively and quite noisy. Can't wait to eat here again.
