The food is a highlight; I had a breakfast muffin that was spot-on, with fresh ingredients and just the right amount, and their tapas deals are an absolute bargain if you're after something light and tasty. The team there are brilliant too, always with a smile and ready to help, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming. On the flip side, if you're after more vegetarian picks past the morning menu, you might find it a bit lacking, and while the QR code ordering is quick, it's not quite as personal as chatting directly with someone. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together in Kendal, especially with those cheeky specials, but it's worth keeping those little drawbacks in mind for a well-rounded visit.

Very nice place, with unique style.
I enjoyed the dinner, nice flavored and good portions. I was at the first floor (a bit quieter than the ground floor).
Service through QR code was fast, still prefer to order face to face but, overall, it was a nice experience.
The best breakfast muffin & hash browns I’ve ever had. A bold claim, but I stand by it.
Everything else we had in the way of tapas was also fresh, tasty and exceeded expectations.

Lovely friendly lounge! As a vegetarian other than breakfast there could be more choice but we had the veggie breakfast and it was delicious. The staff were very approachable and friendly.
I was impressed with Kendal's Cortillo Lounge.
Once sat down, you can order everything from the table (via you mobile and a QR code) with your card, or you can go the till and order there.
The staff were bright, polite and keen to make sure we were ok throughout.
The food was of the usual high quality I've had in other establishments of the lounge franchise. Kendal was no exception. Well prepared good quality food.
Meal sizes were fine, although a touch more mascarpone (with the pancakes) would have been appreciated.
The bathroom was clean, hygienic and the hand dryer was a proper blast.
So a solid recommendation for the Cortillo Lounge and I'd visit again if in Kendal.
Its a lovely bar/cafe with a great atmosphere, always seems to be lots going on like quiz nights etc... Theres a good range of vegan and veggie food, and food is usually brought out quite quickly. We've been in a few times now, the first couple were really good but you could watch the quality slowly go down. On the past two visits all of the food has been so covered in salsa or other sauces it was quite sickly to eat. On the last visit there seemed to be only one front of house staff who was practically running everywhere, she seemed incredibly stressed but was still doing a great job. The drinks, especially the cocktails are so overpriced considering most of them are just two shots and some soda.
