About This Pub

Ah, Cooper's Brook – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper neighbourhood spot, tucked away in Daybrook near Nottingham. I have to say, what really stands out is the staff; they're so attentive and helpful, whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or sorting out a function for a special occasion. They've got a solid menu with plenty of grilled pub classics and fun offers like brunch or Pride events, which makes it a great place for a relaxed meal with mates or even the family and the dog in tow. The beer garden is brilliant for those sunny days, and it's ace how they've made it accessible for everyone, no fuss involved. On the other hand, while the food hits the spot, it's not going to blow your socks off – it's your typical hearty pub stuff, nothing too fancy, and you might find the drink options a tad restricted in certain spots. All in all, it's a reliable choice for a laid-back visit, especially if you're nearby, but if you're after something more exciting on the food front, you might want to keep exploring. Still, with that 4.0 rating, it's clear folks keep coming back for the good vibes and service.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant and so attentive – they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • A cracking selection of pub grub, with tasty grilled options and specials that cater to all tastes, plus fun things like brunch deals.
  • It's super accessible, with ramps and helpful touches for anyone with mobility needs, making it easy for everyone to enjoy.
  • The beer garden is a real gem for soaking up the sun with a pint, and it's family and dog-friendly, perfect for a relaxed outing.
  • They've got a great function room for events, like birthdays, with flexible options that add a nice touch for celebrations.
Cons
  • The food's solid and reliable, but it doesn't always wow – it's good pub fare without being particularly innovative or standout.
  • Drink choices can feel a bit limited in some areas, like the function room, so you might need to head to the main bar for more variety.
  • It seems like the place has had its ups and downs over the years, with some past visits not living up to expectations, though it's improved lately.

Staying at the Premier Inn next door. Had lunch when we arrived. The staff were brilliant and very attentive. Great selection of food and served pihot. The outside sitting area was brilliant. Went out the for coffee after lunch. Came here several years ago and was not impressed but this time it was really good. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Celebrated a friend's 60th birthday in their function room. We were given time before the event to dress the room, and were able to return the next day to clear it. A small bar, with the option of going to the main bar downstairs for a wider choice of drinks. Jamie, the barman, ran the whole room of over 50 guests single handedly. Nothing was too much trouble for him. A majority of the guests are visually impaired, and he already had a plan for how to manage orders for drinks that were only available downstairs, he was brilliant. The party food was bang on hot and tasty.

Have to say our visit today with my husband who is wheelchair bound and our son.would On arrival we were greeted by a Young man called James, he immediately got a ramp for us and made sure we were seated. His service during the meal was very attentive and helpful, even to following us out to make sure the gate was open. First class service, first class meal. Immaculately clean. The lady that served the drinks was also very polite and pleasant. Great atmosphere. Would diffidently recommend a visit.

Popped in for dinner here while on a business trip, staying at premier Inn next door, food was really excellent I have to say, very comfortable to, and a good selection from the menu. I had a salmon salad which was great. Initially on looking at Google maps I thought it might just be a venue for large dining events but it's got a pub essentially here to. Facilities reasonable and friendly staff. Thank you guys. 👍🫶

The food was good, but not particularly special. However, the service was great and we enjoyed the venue.
