About This Pub
Ah, Coniston Tavern – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, you know? From the reviews, it's clear that the beer is a standout; that pint of Guinness gets rave reviews for being the best around, and the way they keep everything in tip-top condition makes it a proper delight. The staff really make the place shine – Andy and Katie sound like they're always up for a chat, making newcomers feel welcome straight away, which is just what you want after a long day. There's a real sense of community too, with locals bantering and enjoying the atmosphere, plus some clever perks like loyalty cards that give you a free beer after six, and those poker nights where you get free food for a fiver – it's genius! It's also spot on for hosting events; folks have had great experiences with family gatherings in the function room, complete with garden access for a breather. On the flip side, it's not without its rough edges – a couple of reviews mention it's a bit worn around the edges, which adds to the authentic feel but could do with some updates to make it even better. All in all, with a solid 4.5 rating, it's a gem for anyone after a relaxed spot to unwind, though it might not suit those seeking something more upscale. If you're in Nuneaton, I'd say give it a go; it's got that heartwarming charm that'll have you returning for another round.
Pros and Cons
Pros

-
Perfect for gatherings, with a function room that's just the right size for family events or parties, and even access to a garden for a bit of fresh air.
-
Overall, it's a welcoming neighbourhood spot that's clearly well-loved, with high ratings showing it's a go-to for a relaxed pint and some laughs.
Cons
-
The place feels a tad run-down in spots, which gives it that old-school charm but might need a bit of TLC to freshen things up.
-
From what I've seen, it's not the flashiest venue, so if you're after something more modern or polished, it might not quite hit the mark.

The best pint of Guinness by far. Andy and Katie are fantastic hosts and make you feel so welcome. It has a friendly atmosphere and a really good banter with all of the locals. Pork scratchings with Worcestershire sauce is a game changer !!!
New to the estate and entered the coniston tavern the first time last week.
I felt really comfortable in there straight away and the beer was kept in great condition. Will deffo be returning keep up the good work
Love it here, staff are so welcoming. They have a loyalty card so you get a free beer after you buy six - I don't know any other pubs that do that. Good venue for hiring a function room and I like to go to the poker on a Monday night where you pay in for £5 and you get free food! Bargain.
We had a wonderful family Holy Communion event here. The room was perfect size, with doors opening up on the garden. The management were so welcoming and helpful.
Interesting venue, proper neighbourhood pub feel, with friendly punters. Little run down but to be expected. Looks like maybe new owners or managers atleast, although couldn't be sure, they are certainly atleast trying to bring the venue back to its hey-day. Large sports screen which is always a bonus. Would return.
