About This Pub

Ah, Cherry Jam – what a gem in the heart of Stockport! I've got to say, it's one of those places that just lifts your spirits from the moment you walk in, with its retro decor and that warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to settle in for the evening. The staff are absolute stars, always on hand to top up your drink or chat about the menu, and the cocktails are a real highlight – they're well-crafted and come with clever names that add a bit of fun. Whether you're tucking into a bottomless brunch or enjoying an afternoon tea, the food hits the spot too, and events like music bingo really bring everyone together for a laugh. On the flip side, the loos could do with a bit more privacy; it's a minor niggle, but it might catch you off guard. All in all, it's a fantastic spot for a get-together with mates, as long as you check the opening times first – but don't let that put you off, because when it's on form, it's blooming brilliant.

Pros and Cons

Cons

Fabulous cream tea with great, attentive staff. Very retro style, although the loos are a bit strange having no sort of ante-room. Just walk in straight off the pub floor. Maybe a trellis screen or something outside might help. However, the decor in the loos is pure 80s, and I loved it. The dog was given dog treats and ice cubes, which she enjoyed. The only real moan was that the music was a bit loud, especially as we went in at 4.30 pm. Turn it up for the evening crowd by all means, but a bit much for afternoon. I'd highly recommend.

First time visiting but always wanted to. Although you only get 90 mins on the bottomless brunch, it is more than enough. Staff are very welcoming, and are round to take a drinks order and to just check on you regularly but not over bearing. I'm fussy with fillings of sandwiches, and it always seems to be the same fillings on afternoon tea so personally I didn't eat much of the offerings but for someone less fussy than me it would've been enough. The music bingo is a highlight and a must to stick around for!! Already looking at booking again in the bot too distant future.

Attended last weekend for bottomless afternoon tea. The staff are so friendly and very attentive, definitely making sure you make the most of the bottomless cocktails. I had a gf afternoon tea which was delicious and too much, I had to bring some home. The music and atmosphere, and the bingo afterwards, all excellent!!!

We went on a Saturday afternoon and I’m so glad we did. The atmosphere was amazing. Lively and friendly. That went for staff and customers. We love a Tommy margarita and it’s what we base the quality of a bar man with and Cherry Jam passed with flying colours. The music bingo was so much fun and we met some new friends to play it with. Looking forward to going back.

A great bar in the heart of Stockport on the up and coming marketplace. Quirky decor, fab music and of course amazing cocktails with nostalgic names! As well as making the classics if requested. The new summer 2022 cocktail menu is well worth trying! And the staff are really friendly and fun! Whether you’re a local or just visiting, highly recommend visiting Cherry Jam!
