About This Pub
Ah, Thread – what a delightful find in Stockport if you're after a proper Belgian beer experience. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this inviting setup with exposed brick and authentic touches that make it feel like a hidden haven for ale lovers. The beer selection is top-notch, with plenty of draught and bottled options that folks rave about, and the staff sound like absolute stars, always up for a chat and making sure you feel welcome. It's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends or even bringing the dog along for a pint in peace. On the flip side, though, the opening times can be a bit of a puzzle – some days it wraps up early, and right now it's listed as closed, which is a bummer if you're hoping for a spontaneous visit. Plus, without a website, it's not the easiest to plan around. Overall, if you're in the area and it's open, I'd say give it a go for that unique beer scene, but maybe check ahead to avoid disappointment. It's got that charm that makes you want to return once things are sorted.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's a rare gem specialising in Belgian beers, with a fantastic selection both on tap and in bottles that really hits the spot for beer enthusiasts.
-
The atmosphere is spot on – think exposed brickwork, old Belgian signage, and a cosy layout that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and helpful; I've heard they make you feel welcome with great chats and recommendations, which adds a personal touch.
-
It's a brilliant spot to relax with mates or family, and it's even dog-friendly, so you can bring the furry ones along for the fun.
Cons
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent or on the early side, with some days closing as early as 2 PM, which might cut short your evening plans.
-
There's no website or phone number listed, making it tricky to check what's on or get in touch if you're planning a visit.
-
With only around 31 reviews in total, it feels like it might still be flying under the radar, so you won't get that buzzing crowd every time.
-
The business status shows it's currently closed, which is a real shame and could mean missing out until it reopens.

A bar specialising in Belgian beer is rare, which makes this an absolute gem.
It's fantastically laid out inside, with a great selection of beers both on tap and in bottles.
I visited on a Thursday, so it was quiet. But I had a great chat with the barman, and immediately felt at home.
Cracking modern bar near the market specialising in Belgium beers..including a weaker one on tap which I was grateful for as I was trying out a few pubs on that particular night I visited. Also some real ales. It’s quite large inside. Recommended 🍻
Really nice Belgian bar with plenty of Belgian draught & bottle selections. As you can see from my photo, all bottles are served in their authentic glassware. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere & well decorated with exposed brickwork & old Belgian signage on the walls. A great addition to Stockport marketplace!
A new bar .. replacing the Mobberley Brewery bar that was here. Two hand pumps. A new and unusual brewery from Sussex. ( Where all the best people are from, Paulicarus disagrees as we met him in Poland.) Only with Love brewery from Uckfield. ( A lovely Sussex town.) Had a lovely Champion 4.9% IPA. The bar is surprisingly large, long and thin. Currently limited opening times.
Fantastic place with huge selection of Belgian beers and some local breweries too. Good place to chill out with your friends and family. Dog friendly as well. Staff is lovely and very helpful
