About This Pub

Ah, Chapel House – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're there for a quick pint or to catch up with friends over a game of darts. The beers are spot on, and there's this genuine, lively buzz that makes it perfect for unwinding after a long day. On the flip side, the hours can be a tad confusing based on what's out there, and without a website, it's not always straightforward to plan ahead or get the latest scoop. Still, for what it is – an affordable, no-fuss local gem – it's got that heartwarming charm that keeps people coming back, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a proper pub experience without any pretences.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – they're so welcoming and make you feel like a regular from the get-go, which really adds to the cosy vibe.
  • You've got a fantastic selection of beers on tap, and the atmosphere is just spot on for a good chat or watching a game with mates.
  • It's got that classic old-school pub charm with things like a dartboard, making it a proper local spot for a relaxed pint.
  • Prices are spot on for a budget-friendly night out, so you can enjoy great value without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • The operating hours listed seem a bit muddled, which might leave you scratching your head about when it's best to pop in.
  • There's no website or phone number available, so it's tricky to check for any updates or special events before heading over.
  • Being an inexpensive spot, it might not have all the fancy extras you'd find in more modern pubs, like extensive food options or online bookings.

First visit Christmas Day Lunchtime, the staff were very welcoming and the place was busy, we were made to feel that we were regulars, which made this pub, one of in my opinion old school , Dartboard, plenty of conversations, a great choice of Beers at the bar, a lovely first visit to a good friendly boozer.
