About This Pub
Ah, Carrigan's East Kilbride – it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a good night out or a relaxed meal with friends. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the food is a real standout; folks are raving about the fresh, hearty dishes like the Tex Mex Chicken and steak pie that are cooked to perfection and come in massive portions, making it feel like proper value for a moderate price. The staff are an absolute delight too, always friendly and attentive, which really adds to that homely, family-friendly atmosphere – perfect if you're heading out with the kids or just for a casual catch-up. It's been around since 1979 and still going strong, which says a lot about its appeal. On the flip side, though, the car park situation can be a bit of a nuisance; it's not big enough for the crowds, and there are tales of disabled spots being misused, which just adds unnecessary frustration when you're trying to get in for a pint or a bite. Overall, it's a solid choice for us pub goers looking for quality grub and a good time, as long as you plan ahead for parking – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the East Kilbride area.

Cons
-
The car park can be a right pain, especially when it's busy – you might end up circling for ages or dealing with spaces taken by those who shouldn't.
-
It seems like they might get a bit overwhelmed at peak times, as one review mentioned struggling with portions or waits, though that's not too common.

1st time visiting here with my daughter, we were greeted with lovely friendly staff and seated in a very nice spot in this really lovely restaurant. We had the Tex Mex Chicken which was lovely, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the addition of home made coleslaw was perfect. The staff were really nice and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back.
Lovely famehouse feel.
Food is fabulous. We ordered the steak pie, roast dinner and a children's Yorkie Sausage dinner.
Steak and pork melted in your mouth.
Can't wait to visit again.
What a great place!
Went in for early Sunday lunch.
Not having been before we thought we'd get a starter and main - big mistake! The portions are on large side so definitely worth your money, however we both struggled to finish our meal. Next time I'll either forget about a starter and just get a main meal, or request smaller portion main.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful too.
Had a lovely family dinner. Our waiter Ian was absolutely fantastic, patient, and kind to the children as well as adults. The food arrived quickly and was hot and fresh. Thanks everyone.
The food was fantastic and the place is beautiful inside so old fashioned and lovely. My only issue is that the carpark is not big enough for the volume of people. We spent ages waiting for a space, and disabled spaces were all taken by people who didn't have a badge, which added to the frustrations. However, we got a space after 15 minutes waiting around.
