About This Pub
You know, I have to say, Caldecott Park really won me over with its lovely blend of history and modern touches – it's been around since 1904 and still feels fresh after that big restoration a few years back. Picture this: you're wandering through 10 acres of well-tended gardens with award-winning flowers that burst with colour, mature trees offering shade on a sunny day, and plenty of space for informal recreation or even a game on the tennis courts. The play area is a hit with the little ones, though it's showing its age a bit and could use some TLC to keep up the magic. What I love most is how inclusive it is; the paths are smooth for wheelchairs, and there are accessible toilets and a cafe that's just the ticket for a nice break. It's in such a handy spot next to the town hall, making it easy to pop in after shopping or a walk around. Sure, the rules on dogs might feel a tad restrictive, and those evening hours wrap up at 9pm, but overall, it's a peaceful oasis that locals and visitors alike rave about. If you're in Rugby, do yourself a favour and spend some time there – it's one of those places that leaves you feeling refreshed and happy, with just a few minor niggles that don't detract from the charm.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The park is an absolute gem with stunning floral displays that make you feel like you're in a botanical wonderland – it's won awards for a reason!
-
It's got a great mix of facilities, like a play area for the kids, tennis courts, and a bandstand, perfect for a family day out or a casual stroll.
-
Accessibility is spot on, with smooth paths, accessible toilets, and even facilities in the cafe, so everyone can enjoy it without a fuss.
-
There's a lovely cafe on site serving refreshments, which is ideal for a quick cuppa and a bite after wandering around.
-
It's right in the heart of Rugby town centre, making it super convenient, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming.
Cons
-
The play area seems a bit worn out and could do with a freshen-up, as it's starting to look tired after all the years of fun.
-
Dogs have to be on leads, which might cramp the style for those wanting a more relaxed walk with their furry friends.
-
With opening hours from 7am to 9pm, it might not suit late-night visitors, though that's probably for the best in a park setting.

Just a beautiful oasis in Rugby. Visit it. Enjoy it and leave it tidy..so much work goes into it making it as beautiful as it is.
Nicest park seen in a while . Love it. A big plus is the toilets in the park. Well done.
A charming park in Rugby town centre, with a play area with sand, excellent plants and flowers, mature trees, tennis and football courts, bandstand, toilets and a lovely coffee shop.
Excellent Park, well tended and with good tarmac paths that make wheelchairs much easier. Had a lovely walk in the sun and the shade and a drink in the cafe to finish.
I have been going to this park since I was little (over 60 years ago)! Went with our two granddaughters. The park is a mix of formal planting and wild areas. The girls loved the "woods" the play area (this could do with a revamp, looking tired) and making daisy chains. The cafe is lovely, reasonably priced good food. A lovely park, the formal planting is a credit to the gardeners.
