About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about Blackmill Bar and Kitchen – it's one of those places that just warms you up as soon as you step inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are proper gems, always smiling and ready to help, which really sets the tone for a great visit. The menu's a winner too, packed with delicious options like juicy Cajun chicken burgers or hearty steak pies, and folks seem to love how fresh and piping hot everything comes out. It's especially nice that they've got that dog-friendly bar area and a beer garden for when the weather's on your side – perfect for a casual catch-up with mates. On the flip side, it's not flawless; one person mentioned the veg with their meal letting them down a bit, which is a shame when the rest is spot on. Overall, though, with a solid 4.6 rating, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a good time, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in Falkirk looking for a relaxed pub experience – just maybe book ahead to avoid any queues!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a cracking menu with plenty of choices, from tasty Cajun chicken burgers to fresh salmon salads – always hot and well-presented.
-
It's dog-friendly in the bar area, which is brilliant if you're out with your furry mate, and they even give them treats!
-
The beer garden is a real treat on a sunny day, perfect for enjoying a pint or a meal outdoors.
-
Prices are reasonable, so you get good value without breaking the bank, and they've got options for takeaways if you've overindulged.
Cons
-
There might be the odd slip-up with side dishes, like the veg in the steak pie not quite hitting the mark in one instance.
-
It can get busy, so popping in without a booking might mean you're stuck in the bar area rather than getting a prime table.

Menu was good plenty to choose from. Cajun chicken burger was lovely. The bun wasn't dry, so I didn't have to just eat the chicken. Service in here is friendly and happy to help. Also has a beer garden which helps on a hot day. Would recommend. Do takeaway boxes! amazing if you've over eaten but still want cake.
Was in for a late lunch with a good friend today. I had the chicken pakora to start and she had the garlic mushrooms, both were lovely. I then had a salad with salmon for my main and my friend ordered mac ‘n’ cheese loaded fries which she says were delicious and took what she couldn’t eat home with her. Our deserts, homemade sticky toffee and warm brownie were lovely except my brownie was a bit burnt and hard. However, the service was truly brilliant. Both Nikola and Jake were brilliant and very attentive with good patter, checking on our meals every so often and making sure everything was okay for us. They truly made the atmosphere that much better.
Brilliant place and I truly recommend for some food and drinks!
We absolutely love the Blackmill Bar and Kitchen! They have a brand new menu which is delicious and we're working through!
Firstly, the staff are amazing. Very welcoming and friendly which is so nice. They are dog friendly and always give Fergus big treats and cuddles.
The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. On our last visit, we had the madras, hot chilli honey chicken, gammon egg and chips (and pineapple!) And the king prawn fajitas. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the portions were a great size- nice and hot and full of flavour.
We then joined drag-e-oke on the night which was brilliant! Barbra la bush was a fantastic host, the singers were great and the atmosphere was bouncing.
We've been to quiz night a few times too and absolutely loved it.
They have a lovely large garden area, which has brand new sheds, outdoor heating and nice colourful benches!
Would definitely recommend! & being dog friendly is a big win!
We had a very enjoyable afternoon at the Blackmill Inn recently. Lunch was, as always superb. I had the steak of the day which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented as were my husband’s chicken fajitas. Staff were welcoming and friendly which created a very comfortable atmosphere. As well as our delicious lunch I also tried a few cocktails which I cannot recommend highly enough. Long Island Ice Tea, (which is my favourite and was perfect) and a Wham which literally comes with a Wham bar in the glass and looked like a work of art. I highly recommend a visit to the Blackmill Inn, it’s perfect for any occasion and it’s pet friendly too. The food, drinks, decor etc are amazing but what made it stand out for us were the staff
Came with a few friends without a booking but they were able to accommodate us in the bar. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. Food was served piping hot and presentation was lovely. I had steak pie, mash and veg. Pie and mash were lovely however I very let down by the veg. The red cabbage was tasteless. One waitress came over to check if we were all done and we said no, several of us were still eating so she left us alone. However, I was disappointed that another waitress kept returning to the table and cleared plates while others were still eating, reaching over one person, whilst she was eating, to take my plate away. The door of the toilet in the bar area swings wide open if the door isn't closed properly when someone leaves. Not great when you are eating. Friends recommend the wine in the picture which wasn't overpriced. Atmosphere is nice, tables not too close together. Some deep holes in the car park across the road, which could be filled with some stones, but there's plenty spaces. I would recommend as the steak pie was very nice and friends said the burgers were lovely too (sorry no pics but they were huge and came with some good looking onion rings).
