About This Pub

Oh, Bendigo Lounge is one of those places that just hits the spot for a laid-back get-together in Beeston. Named after a local boxing legend, it's got this charming, eclectic decor with murals and big windows that let in loads of light, making it feel warm and inviting no matter the time of day. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real winner – whether you're tucking into a brilliant breakfast, a smashing burger, or even some vegan options, everything seems to be cooked with care and arrives pretty quickly. The staff are top-notch too, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which adds to that homely feel. Plus, with deals like Tapas Tuesdays or Cocktail Club offers, it's a wallet-friendly choice for midweek fun. On the flip side, though, the QR code ordering can take away from the personal touch you'd expect in a cosy lounge, and it's a shame about the lack of student discounts since it's right in the heart of things. Portions are decent but not massive, so if you're starving, you might fancy an extra side. All in all, it's a solid pick for anyone wanting a good meal and a chat, with that 4.4 rating speaking volumes about the good times had here – I'd say give it a go if you're in Nottingham, but keep those little niggles in mind for a balanced experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – from tasty breakfasts and burgers to plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, there's something for everyone, and it's all served up with real flair.
  • The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got a lovely, cosy atmosphere with cool decor, including some fun murals, and the space is bright and inviting, especially with those big windows that open up.
  • They're super accessible, with wheelchair-friendly seating and restrooms, and it's even dog-friendly, which is brilliant for a casual outing.
  • Great value deals like Cheeky Mondays and Tapas Tuesdays make it easy on the wallet, and the all-day menus mean you can pop in whenever suits.
Cons
  • Ordering via QR code can feel a bit impersonal, like you're missing that warm chat with the server.
  • They don't offer student discounts, which might be a letdown for those on a budget studying nearby.
  • Portion sizes are just about right but not overly generous, so if you're after something really hearty, you might leave wanting a bit more.

The food was amazing. The choice of food is brilliant. They cator for meat eaters and include vegan options. The coffee was great and just what I needed after the weekend I had. We ordered using the online service and the food arrived fairly quickly. The decor and vibe of the place is nice. Great place to meet friends or have a date.

This place is a very comfy and aesthetic place to eat at, plus the food was amazing!! The birria smash burger was fantasing, one of the best burgers I've ever had would 100 percent recommend! My friends enjoyed the chicken burger and birra tacos! However, unfortunately this place doesn't do student discounts so it's not student friendly, as the prices are quite much for student budget. Overall lovely service, aesthetic atmosphere, fantastic food but too steep priced for students! Oh plus a bit stingy with the birra sauce for the burger and tacos, was barely enough to act as a sauce rather than dipping, for the price there should be more sauce quantity!

Cool space over two floors with lots of different seating options. We sat by the window on the first floor on a Sunday morning. Order by QR is a bit impersonal but the service was efficient and the food really good. Can thoroughly recommend the small English breakfast and the shakshuka- both delicious and would recommend. Will definitely be trying other restaurants in the lounge group

Lovely brunch, good service and a nice place to eat. Easy to order from the table and only a short wait for food. Portion size just big enough. I like the sticker on the tea pots confirming they're decafe. Good cleanliness, and nice to see a checking rota in the gents bathroom actually being used. A little more expensive than other places in the area, but worth it. It feels a little more special going here for food compared to some of our other regular lunch time coffee shops.
