About This Pub

Ah, the Bee Hive Inn, it's one of those pubs that really warms your cockles on a chilly evening in Blackburn. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this fantastic community feel, with staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home – think quick service and a smile that brightens up the place. The atmosphere is spot on, especially with events like Saturday night karaoke or a Friday DJ spinning tunes, making it perfect for a laugh with friends or even a solo pint. The beers are top-notch, well-maintained with loads of variety, so you're in for a treat no matter what you're fancying. On the flip side, it's worth noting that some drinks might hit the wallet a bit harder than expected, and there have been mentions of the odd bit of trouble with certain groups, which could put a dampener on things if you're after a peaceful night. Overall, though, with a solid 4.4 rating from heaps of happy visitors, it's a reliable choice for a good time – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, just keep an eye on the vibe to suit your mood.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff at the Bee Hive Inn are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • It's got a cracking atmosphere, especially on weekends with things like karaoke and a good DJ, keeping things lively and fun.
  • The beers are well-kept with plenty of choice, so you're spoilt for options whether you're after a classic pint or something different.
  • There's always something going on, from events every night to a solid vibe that makes it a go-to spot in Blackburn.
  • It's well-run by the same folks for over 25 years, which shows in the consistent quality and that homely local feel.
Cons
  • Some of the pints can be a tad pricey, which might make you think twice if you're on a tight budget.
  • There could be occasional issues with rowdier crowds, as one review mentioned a sign about misbehaviour, so it might not be the quietest spot all the time.

Well located, good atmosphere, especially on the weekend and nice staff/ownership. Some pints are pricey, but the ambience makes up for it. Would recommend given the limited options in Blackburn.

Excellent pub. Well run by Barry and Carol whom have been at this establishment for 25 years plus. Visited on a friday. Good dj on and extremely friendly bar staff and well kept beers with plenty of choice. Long live the local.

The ale here is consistently good. The place is friendly. First decent pint on my pub crawl. Concerning sign on the outside area at the rear, stating that throwing bottles or glass leads to expulsion from the premises...this needs spelling out! Expect issues are more connected with clientele from premises situated nearby. However, simply displaying a sign like that does make you feel less comfortable.
