About This Pub

Ah, Baba Dough – what a gem in West Bridgford! I've got to say, diving into their pizzas feels like a real treat; that 48-hour sourdough base is just spot on, making each bite light and full of that authentic, tangy goodness, paired with fresh toppings that leave you wanting more. From what folks are saying, it's clear this place nails the basics while keeping things affordable, and the team behind the counter adds a warm, welcoming feel that makes you feel right at home. On the flip side, it's a tad compact, so if you're popping in on a busy Friday, you might find yourself jostling for space, and those evening-only hours can be a bit limiting if you're after a lunch spot or fancy a spontaneous visit. Plus, while the pizzas steal the show, a couple of comments about the sides not quite hitting the mark remind us it's not perfect – but honestly, for a solid, heartfelt pizza experience in Nottingham, it's well worth seeking out, especially if you plan ahead to avoid any sell-outs.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The pizzas are an absolute delight – that 48-hour fermented dough makes them light, digestible, and packed with flavour, just like a proper homemade treat.
  • Fantastic value for money; you get beautifully done pizzas with fresh toppings at reasonable prices, which is always a win for a casual night out.
  • The service is spot on – staff are friendly and attentive, as seen in how they handle things quickly and keep things running smoothly, even during busy evenings.
  • It's a cosy neighbourhood spot with a heart-warming story behind it, paying homage to the owner's dad, which adds a lovely personal touch to the experience.
Cons
  • It's a small venue, so it can get quite crowded and hectic on popular nights, which might not suit everyone looking for a relaxed vibe.
  • The hours are limited to evenings only, from 5pm to 9pm, and they sell out fast due to the dough process, so you might miss out if you don't plan ahead.
  • Some sides, like the rocket and Parmesan salad, have had mixed feedback – one mention of it being soggy with too much dressing, which is a bit disappointing alongside the stellar pizzas.

These days pizza is everywhere and everyone is having a go because it’s a cheap and reliable option to produce. Often, it’s unexceptional and run of the mill, but Baba Dough does pizza as it should be. A delicious, soft and tasty base with a smooth tomato sauce that is delicately sweet combined with a savoury cheese. Baba Dough is also modern in that it offers great vegetarian and vegan options with handmade meat alternatives at no sacrifice is pleasure for the customer. Staff are also very pleasant and eager to give a positive experience. The service is smooth and food is made is quick time. Overall, this is a classic pizzeria that all will enjoy!

Best pizza i have had in YEARS! Props to the staff, a delivery driver came in to collect, was talking on his phone on speaker, they immediately told him to stop. Thank you from all of us dining in!

The pizzas we had tonight were absolutely delicious, with crispy dough and delicious toppings (we had the melazana and the meat head). Baba dough's easily within my top three pizza places in Notts, which is great as there's a lot of delicious pizza around here at the moment. The burrata, rocket, sundried tomato and fresh bread is a wonderful starter too. Highly recommend this place! I'd try to book if you're eating in, as it's a small place.

The pizzas are OK at Baba Dough and there is a good range of toppings. Our rocket and Parmesan salad had too much dressing, the rocket was soggy and the Parmesan was powdered. The service was OK, it was hot and busy evening.

I have been a couple of times now, and I honestly can't fault the place. The food here is beautifully done and sold for a very reasonable price. There is a great selection of mains and sides to choose from, and I have enjoyed everything that I have eaten here. It's only a small place, but that, in my opinion, adds to the charm of it. you should definitely visit if you haven't been before.
