About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about Ash Tree Farm – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a warm hug when you walk in, with its inviting atmosphere and staff who are genuinely chuffed to see you. I've heard from loads of people how brilliant the service is; servers like Emma and Kerry are quick to chat and make sure everything's just right, whether you're there for a birthday breakfast or a Sunday roast. The food's a real winner too, with tasty carvery and breakfast deals that keep everyone coming back for more, and it's got all the little extras like indoor play for the kids and easy parking that make it a go-to spot. That said, it's not all perfect – some have mentioned getting cut off early from their table time, which can feel a bit rushed, and there've been grumbles about things not going smoothly for events like Christmas dinner, especially if you're after veggie choices. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back outing, as long as you keep those minor niggles in mind and maybe plan ahead for busier times.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The service is absolutely top-notch, with staff like Emma, Simon, and Kerry going out of their way to make you feel welcome and looked after – it's like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
-
The food hits the spot, especially the breakfast and carvery options; folks rave about the hearty portions and fresh tastes that leave you properly satisfied.
-
It's a family-friendly spot with a cosy, homey vibe, complete with indoor play areas, disabled facilities, WiFi, and a handy car park, making it easy for everyone to pop in and relax.
-
Being near the cinema and just a short drive from Manchester, it's conveniently placed for a quick stop or a full day out, and it's open bright and early till late most days.
Cons
-
There can be the odd service snag, like getting nudged out after just an hour and a half at your table, which might cut short a good catch-up with friends.
-
Special occasions, such as Christmas lunch, have had hitches with missing menu items or veggie options not quite living up to expectations, which could leave you a bit disappointed.

Came in for a birthday breakfast with my husband. Our server Emma was excellent so friendly and helpful! We will definitely be coming back!
We had breakfast here this morning and the whole family loved it. The food was good, the atmosphere is very homey and its local to us. Emma and Simon served us very well and were very attentive, checking in, making sure the food we got was fresh and accomodated us well in location of our table and for the baby in our party. Thank you!
What a lovely place. The food is great but the service was top top class
Special mention to Kerry who was warm, welcoming and kind with her time. She made my night but taking the time to chat, thank you and happy Mother’s Day to you for Sunday Kerry.
Been coming here once a month with the lads since July 2024. Carvery is great, can't complain for what you get. Cakeaway is good as well, massive slices.
Gutted last time as we were told our table time had ran out after just 1.5 hours, shame really as it cut our conversation short. Oh well can't be helped I suppose.
Went here for Christmas Day Lunch and have been here previously. A few days before, I had a phone call to say that one of the desserts that were on the menu would not arrive on time, so they asked us to choose something else, which was fine. There was a group of 7 of us, and 2 of us are veggie, so we had pre-ordered the nut roast carvery, which we were looking forward to. The starter was very nice, then we got up to get the carvery, and us veggies were given a cheese pie to go with our roast dinner, a cheese pie??? With it being Christmas Day I didn't want to complain as I am always grateful for staff working on Christmas Day but to be honest I never would have booked if I knew the veggie option was a cheese pie roast dinner. If they had run out or were unable to make a nut roast, this should have been communicated to me. I was very disappointed after spending a lot of money.
