About This Pub

Ah, the Abbey Inn in Paisley – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its warm atmosphere and all the little extras. From what I've gathered from chats with others who've been, the staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure you're sorted, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for the evening. The beer garden is a real highlight on a nice day, and the food's proper good – think hearty pub meals that hit the spot without costing a fortune. Plus, it's brilliant for catching live sports; you can settle in with a cold one and cheer on your team. On the downside, if you're thinking of staying overnight, the pub's lively buzz might keep things a bit too exciting late into the night with that loud music, so it's not ideal for a peaceful kip. All in all, it's a solid choice for a fun night out or a relaxed meal, as long as you go in with your eyes open to the occasional racket – just like any good pub, it's got its quirks, but the positives definitely shine through.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and quick to help, making every visit feel welcoming and personal.
  • They've got a cracking beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun with a pint and some good company.
  • The food is spot on, with tasty pub grub and great value, especially if you're tucking into it in your room.
  • It's a top spot for watching live sports, with loads of events like football and rugby on the screens.
  • Being dog-friendly adds a nice touch, so you can bring your four-legged mate along for the fun.
Cons
  • The music can get super loud late at night, which might make it tough to get a good night's sleep if you're staying over.
  • Some rooms are a bit on the small side, even if they're kept nice and clean.

Super loud music from the pub downstairs till 01.00. Like sleeping in a discotheque. Was not clearly advertised, only vaguely in the fine print and not until what time. If we would have known we would have booked something else.

I stayed at The Abbey Inn 17/5:/25 and it was a very hot day so sat in the busy outside area and had a great afternoon whilst my room was being prepped I was out our that I couldn't get in till 3pm however as it was so lovely I had a couple of drinks and got chatting to a nice couple. It was extremely busy and I have to highly praise the fantastic staff and kitchen staff as I saw food was flying out and it looked fantastic. The atmosphere was great and the staff worked so hard. Onto the room now as I was on my own it was a single bed and though the room was small it had everything it was beautifully decorated and a fantastic large TV. Although it was very hot the room was lovely and cool and I used the fan provided which was great.. The bed was awesome just so comfortable and the bed linen just spectacular and pillows Lovely soft carpet and great tea and coffee facilities and a thing lacking in many top hotels Plenty of mirrors ladies!!! also immaculate bathroom and a great shower. I would recommend everything in the Abbey I loved it very much. Thanks so much x

Having two nights here was a pleasure although the room was small it was immaculate. Ordered food to the room a few times and couldn't believe the value, it was very tasty too! The staff where super polite and accommodating. Even down to the cleaning staff absolute top notch customer service which is a rarity nowadays. They put earplugs out although never needed the use of them as the noise levels where not overbearing in anyway. The only issue is the TV service (not many channels are available), this doesn't put me off. Id definitely stay here again if in the local area. Thanks to all the staff there.

Many thanks for providing the Funeral Tea and looking after us on 17th Feb. These times are never easy, but you made us feel welcome and the family were able to relax over some good tea and cakes. I would happily recommend the Abbey Inn to others.

Very lively bar in a central location and good to watch sports. Nice outside space to sit and have a drink. Rooms are cosy and the service is excellent. A young man called Joel served us and was there every time we needed him, there was never an empty glass at the table. Very polite and talkative guy and made our experience very enjoyable. Thank you.
