About This Pub

Ah, The Woolpack – what a cracking little spot it is, tucked away in the picturesque village of Esholt. I have to say, as someone who's had a wander through its doors, it's got this wonderful mix of old-school charm and that famous Emmerdale legacy, which really pulls in the crowds for a bit of nostalgia and a good old chinwag. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand to make you feel right at home, and the food? Well, it's spot on – piping hot and full of flavour, with plenty of choices to suit all tastes. You've got those cosy nooks with roaring fires and fairy lights for a proper winter warmer, or head outside in the summer for a pint in the sunshine. It's super dog-friendly too, which is brilliant if you're out for a walk. On the flip side, it can be a tad quiet if you pop in early, so you might miss that lively atmosphere everyone raves about, and with so many visitors, it does get packed at times, which could mean a wait for your table. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together with mates or family – just plan ahead, and you'll have a whale of a time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's got that charming Emmerdale history, making it a real treat for fans – you can soak up the nostalgia and even spot some memorabilia around the place.
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always ready with a smile and to look after your requests, which really adds to the cosy vibe.
  • The food is spot on – think delicious meals served in a warm, atmospheric setting, with options for everyone, and it's dog-friendly too, so you can bring your furry mate along.
  • Plenty of outdoor seating for those sunny Yorkshire days, plus indoor spots with fires and games like darts, perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening.
  • A great selection of drinks, including cask ales and more, in a beautiful countryside location that's just lovely for a getaway.
Cons
  • It might feel a bit quiet or lack that full buzz early in the day, as one visit mentioned, so if you're after a lively atmosphere, timing your trip could make all the difference.
  • With its popularity among locals, walkers, and soap enthusiasts, it can get busy, especially for Emmerdale fans, which might mean waits for tables or a more touristy feel at times.

Lovely pub popular with locals, walkers and soap fans. Got a couple of ales on. Has a darts board. May offer stop overs as carpark is fairly large, if not entirely flat, but definitely enquire beforehand. Dog friendly. 🎯 🍻 🐕 📺

Absolutely beautiful location and a must see for any Emmerdale fan. The Woolpack wrap is a must have, and is served piping hot. The owners kindly allowed us to take a picture behind the bar. Great location, friendly staff, great food A+

Food was delicious, as was the service. Can't comment on the atmosphere too much as we were in just after it opened. For Emmerdale lovers it's a must visit, memorabilia inside the pub everywhere you look. Would probably go back if I'm in the area again.
