About This Pub

Ah, The Village Inn in Dunfermline is one of those classic village pubs that really captures the heart of the community – you know, the kind where you can pop in for a pint and end up chatting away with the locals. From the reviews I've had a look at, it's got that warm, inviting feel with super friendly folk around, and the beer comes highly recommended for a straightforward, enjoyable night out. Plus, if you're planning something like a baby shower, they've got a function room that's spot on for hiring out. On the downside, though, there have been a few grumbles about some of the staff being a tad brusque and not all that helpful, especially when it's heaving, which could put a bit of a dampener on things. And it's a shame they don't do any food, so if you're peckish, you might have to venture out for a bite. All in all, it's worth checking out if you're nearby and fancy a laid-back pint, but just keep in mind it might not be perfect every time – still, that's pubs for you, eh?

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and regulars are super friendly, making it feel like a proper community hub.
  • It's got a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening with mates.
  • They serve great beer, and there's a function room you can hire for events like parties.
Cons
  • Some bar staff can be a bit rude or unhelpful, which might spoil the mood.
  • It seems understaffed at times, especially when things get busy upstairs.
  • They don't offer any food, so you'll need to head elsewhere if you're after a proper meal.

Where do I start 😡😡😡Not even worth one star !!! Hospitality … zero… bar staff… unreasonable, not at all empathetic, unhelpful and rude!!!! Must say it was the unhelpful blonde /greying older woman serving. We had a baby shower booked upstairs. Not enough staff to manage upstairs ..met this with disdain. !!! “Well it is what it is and I’m not going to even suggest any help for your paid booking. You either come down two flights of stairs or get no drink… the place was freezing !!! No heating on either. The cherry on the cake for me was ….” Well we don’t take cards, only cash.” So is there any where else to get money ….. err well I’m not helping by giving you any suggestions I only work here!!! To be honest I’ve never been in such a cold unwelcome environment in my whole life… oh man … please. Never book this place for anything it’s awful….. 😢😢😢😡😡😡😡😡🥲 by the way no one bought any more drinks and on the passing there were two punters in bar .. their loss !!!! I spent nothing as did my colleagues after the first degregading bar encounter !!!

This is a nice Village pub. Unfortunately they don't do food. But they do have a lounge or function room available to hire and can arrange catering if required.
