About This Pub
Ah, Charlie's Bar – it's one of those unassuming little pubs on Nile Street that you might stumble upon and end up having a cracking time. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff really shine here; they're attentive, chatty, and make everyone feel welcome, whether you're there for a quick ale or just popping in for the craic. I love how it's described as a quaint, traditional drinkers' pub with a good range of drinks and even some extras like bingo on Thursdays or a game of pool – it's those little touches that make it stand out for a laid-back evening. On the flip side, it's a bit disappointing to see it might be closed at the moment, which could leave you high and dry if you're planning a visit. Plus, without a website or any solid info on opening times, it's not the easiest place to keep tabs on. Overall, based on the feedback, it's got that warm, community feel going for it, but with only a 3.8 rating from folks, it might not wow you straight away – still, if you're in North Shields and it's open, it's worth checking out for a proper, no-fuss pub experience.

Cons
-
It looks like the pub might be closed right now, which is a real shame as it could put a damper on plans

-
With an overall rating of 3.8, it's solid but not exceptional, and the reviews suggest it could do with a bit more buzz

I popped in here for a drink,I found it very pleasant, the bar staff are quick to serve and will recall your drink, so I wish to thank Ali, and her staff, Nathan and Kenny for a great time, I would also like to add that if you like a game of bingo then call by on a Thursday afternoon and it cost 2.00 for set of 6 and last game is 3.00 because that's where the money is
I also helped gut with my Google to fi d a tattoo place and because I helped he tried to buy me a drink, this tell me that everyone e here is a good sort, it had the reminder of a working person's bar (pit) I would definitely call back, so thanks to all the patrons today Thursday for making my visita happy one.
I really liked this place. I'm not a drinker as I'm epileptic and not allowed to. Didn't feel out of place. The staff were brilliant and were actually interested about my illness but so nice that I could go into a bar and not feel like I'm a stranger. I unfortunately live in Newcastle but come from London so all they do is drink. Like bloody alcoholic. Even my ex father in law tried spiking me twice at parties with a double vodka in my coke as If I wouldn't realise. Not been allowed to drink for 12 years due to my epilepsy
This is a quaint traditional drinkers pub. Clean well presented good pleasant staff. All the usual draught beers and good array of spirits. Pool table.
