About This Pub
Ah, The Rose and Crown in Wolverhampton – it's one of those pubs that really knows how to make you feel welcome, isn't it? From what I've gathered, the staff go out of their way to create that homely atmosphere, and the food is a standout with fresh ingredients and plenty of choices to suit all tastes, all at prices that won't break the bank. I love how they're so involved in the local scene, hosting things like bingo and supporting good causes – it gives the place a real heart. On the downside, though, a couple of folks mentioned waiting ages for their meals, even on quieter nights, and not every server seems to be in top form all the time, which can put a slight dampener on things. Still, with an overall solid rating and rave reviews for the grub, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after a relaxed spot for a meal and a chat with friends – just maybe plan for a bit of patience if service is off its game.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They serve up a fantastic variety of fresh, quality food at honest prices, with options for everyone including vegan and vegetarian dishes.
-
The atmosphere is cosy and relaxing, perfect for a laid-back catch-up with mates or enjoying events like bingo nights.
-
It's a real community hub, supporting local charities and offering great value deals, which adds a nice touch to the experience.
-
The food highlights, like the Tandoori Sizzler and sizzling skillets, are spot on and consistently praised for being delicious and well-cooked.
Cons
-
Service can sometimes be a bit slow, with waits of up to 40 minutes even when it's not too busy, which might frustrate you if you're in a hurry.
-
A few staff members come across as moody or inconsistent, which can dampen the otherwise warm vibe.
-
Some dishes might not hit the mark, like overcooked options we've heard about, though it's not a common complaint.

Had yet another enjoyable couple of hours at the Rose and Crown with friends. Food as always excellent and very completely priced, menu caters for all budgets. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Thanks again to all the staff, always pleasant and helpful. See you soon. Highly recommended.
They allowed us to have a little family meal for my big brother’s wedding which happened in Las Vegas. So this was just a get together afterwards and the staff were very polite and fast with their hospitality. Food was all hot and cooked very well. Well worth the prices.

Slow to bring food. 40 minutes wait and it was quiet. Some staff were good, some were moody. Beef ribs were excellent but hunters chicken were over cooked. Its mid range bit could be better with a better attitude from kitchen and front staff.
