About This Pub
Oh, mate, let me tell you about The RoadHouse in Birmingham—it's one of those hidden gems that's all about the live music buzz, especially if you're into rock. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this brilliant energy with great bands playing most nights, and the atmosphere pulls in folks of all ages, making it feel like a proper community spot. I love how the staff are so welcoming; they've really made evenings memorable for bands and visitors alike. Plus, that huge stage and all the tech gear mean performances are spot on, and the upstairs room with the outside area is just ideal for a chat or a freshen-up. But, honestly, it's not without its flaws—it's a fair trek from the city centre, so you might need to plan your night around that. Some have mentioned there are too many cover bands, which can make things feel a bit samey, and there was that one nightmare with the sound messing everything up. Worst of all, it's closed at the moment, and people are hoping it bounces back because there's nothing quite like it in Birmingham. Overall, if it reopens, it's worth checking out for a solid night of music, but keep those cons in mind for a balanced experience.
Pros and Cons

The live music scene is absolutely brilliant, with great bands and a welcoming atmosphere that draws in all ages, making it a real community hub.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always adding to the positive vibe of the place.
-
It's got a huge stage and top-notch technical setup, which makes for an awesome experience if you're into performing or just enjoying live acts.
-

-
Even if rock isn't your thing, the relaxed atmosphere and great cocktails can make for a enjoyable night out.
Cons
-
It's a bit tucked away on the outskirts, which might make it tricky to get to from the city centre.
-
There are quite a few cover bands rather than original acts, which could feel a tad repetitive for some.
-
Sound quality has been an issue in the past, with one experience really letting down the bands and the overall enjoyment.
-
Sadly, it's currently closed, and there's no sign of it reopening soon, which is a real shame for music lovers in Birmingham.
-
With no website or online presence, it's not the easiest place to keep up with what's on or get more info.

Absolutely brilliant Rock venue great bands on and atmosphere with all ages there plus upstairs room with outside area. Really. Miss this Venue. No other like this in Birmingham we all Hoping it reopens
I loved this place!
We had the chance to perform there with my band and it was an awesome experience.
The staff was welcoming, the stage is just huge, they have a lot a technical stuff so we played in very good conditions. It seems a bit far from the Birmingham center though, but it doesn't seem to be a problem since the venue has seen a lot of popular bands like Black Sabbath (Birmingham is their home town), Les Zep, Red Hot, etc.
You can at least have 200 or 250 people inside, it's pretty big. The bar serves beer and some other strange stuff like multifruit cider... Don't take that, it tastes awfull.
We had such a great time!
Great venue hidden away down the side of the canal. Have live music most nights at a reasonable price. The bar staff are friendly and the 40 or so times I've been there I've not seen any trouble. Deserves to be on the high street, my only criticism there are a few too many cover bands and not enough original music.
This venue has a lot of potential, but the woman they had doing the sound seemed to have a genuine hatred for music, soiling the hard work of the bands and the ears of the audience. The best I can hope for is that she was an emergency stand-in with no training and not a conscious choice by The Roadhouse Management...otherwise this venue is on a slippery slope to the sewers of Brum
Actually, I'm not a fan of rock but the atmosphere in this bar was very relaxed. I enjoyed the evening and the music a lot! Specially after a few great cocktails.
