About This Pub
Ah, Deadbeat in Birmingham is one of those cosy spots that just draws you in with its down-to-earth charm. From the reviews, it's clear folks are raving about the fantastic atmosphere – think old skool hip hop DJs creating a banging vibe that makes you want to stay all evening. The drinks are a real standout, with a brilliant array of beers, including German ones, plus wines and cocktails that keep the options fresh and exciting. It's all about that warm, community feel where you can kick back with friendly people who appreciate good times without any fuss. On the downside, it does lean heavily on being a bar first, so food might not always be available, relying on occasional guest kitchens, which could leave you a bit peckish if that's what you're after. Plus, with limited hours mostly in the evenings and only five days a week, it's worth planning ahead to avoid disappointment. All in all, it's a top choice for a fun, laid-back evening in Stirchley, but just keep those little niggles in mind for the full picture.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's got this brilliant, unpretentious vibe with awesome music like old skool hip hop that really gets the energy going.

They've got a cracking selection of drinks, including a great mix of beers on tap and in the fridge, with German options, frequent rotations, wines, and even cocktails to keep things interesting.
-
It's incredibly welcoming and friendly, fostering a real sense of community where you can relax and enjoy the company of like-minded folk.
-
Guest kitchen takeovers add a fun twist with diverse cuisines, making it more than just a standard bar night out.
Cons
-
Food options seem a bit hit-and-miss, as it's mainly a bar and might not always have something on offer, so you could end up needing to grab a bite elsewhere.
-
It's only open five days a week, typically in the evenings, which means it's not ideal if you're after a spontaneous daytime visit or mid-week catch-up.
-
There's no phone number listed, which can make it a tad tricky to get quick details or confirm what's on before heading over.

Awesome, there was an old skool hip hop DJ in Deadbeat. It was banging. It's a really good vibe. It's my favourite bar in Stirchley. Only took one video as it was busy and I was too busy having fun. It's a bar only, so there is no food that I'm aware of.
Absolutely great night here. Fantastic food and lovely people. Good mix of music and beers Friendly welcoming atmosphere, sharing the night with people who appreciate and respect the same values! Will be back
Great selection of beers, both on tap and in the fridge, mostly German but also a good variety. 6 tap beers but frequent rotation, 6 wines available, and cocktails.
Deadbeats Dive bar feel perfectly fits what it sets out to achieve, cutting out the nonsense and doing the basics perfectly.
The cozy and unpretentious ambiance fosters a sense of community and relaxation.
What sets this bar apart is its unique guest kitchen takeovers, offering diverse cuisines that perfectly complement the craft beer selection.
The friendly and knowledgeable staff's passion for craft beer shines through, making this spot an absolute must-visit for anyone looking to explore Birmingham's thriving beer scene.
From Thursday to Sunday, this new addition to Stirchley in Birmingham let's you step into a world of flavor and atmosphere at this hidden gem of a venue from the guys and gals at Bonehead. It boasts an eclectic selection of craft ales on tap, a brimming selection of cans and bottles in the fridge, Belgian beers, cocktails and some top shelf liquor. This dark and gritty establishment is a haven for those seeking an authentic and soulful experience. I do love a beer and some shoe gazing, dirty, drony, grunge and post rock music, so I feel at home in this unique setting. Dark and dim with old black and white venue posters, skulls and candles as decor.
With offerings of local chefs and kitchen takeovers, so far the food has been sublime, but keep your eye on their Instagram as they do a 'when it's gone it's gone' approach with no bookings. So keep your eye out to avoid disappointment.
The staff here are undoubtedly one of the venue's greatest assets (as well as the beer) . Kind, knowledgeable and friendly, they take the time to talk you through the characteristics of each beer.
Get yourself here. You won't regret it
