About This Pub

Ah, The Red Admiral – or 'The Addy' as the locals fondly call it – is one of those neighbourhood gems that really captures the spirit of a proper British pub. From what I've gathered chatting with folks who've been there, the team behind the bar are an absolute delight, always making sure everything runs smoothly for parties and get-togethers, which makes it a top pick for celebrations or just a casual meet-up. The drinks promotions are spot on too, with wallet-friendly prices on beers and spirits that keep the good times rolling without the sting. And if you're into sports, it's brilliant for catching the big games on those massive screens, often with a bit of free grub thrown in. On the other hand, it does have its downsides; some have said it feels more like a family hub with kids about, which can make for a noisier atmosphere if you're after a peaceful pint. There've been a couple of moans about the music not being loud enough, and it might seem a bit subdued on quieter evenings. All in all, it's a solid choice for a fun night out with mates, but it's worth knowing it might not be the spot for a serene escape – still, I'd say give it a go and see if it suits your fancy!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant and make you feel right at home, always going the extra mile for events and parties.
  • It's a fantastic spot for watching live sports with those big screens and even free food during big matches – perfect for a lively night out.
  • They've got great value drinks deals all day, like cheap pints and shots, which won't break the bank and add to the fun atmosphere.
  • Loads of facilities like a function room, pool, darts, and outdoor seating make it a proper community hub for all sorts of gatherings.
  • Regular events such as karaoke, quizzes, and live music keep things buzzing and give it that real local feel.
Cons
  • It can get a bit chaotic with kids running around on busy nights, which might not suit everyone looking for a relaxed pub vibe.
  • Some folks have mentioned the music being turned down too low, which can dampen the mood if you're hoping for a proper singalong.
  • The place might feel a tad quiet or empty at times, especially if you're popping in on an off night without an event on.
  • A few reviews suggest it leans more towards a family-oriented spot than a traditional pub, so it might not always hit the mark for a quiet drink.

I came here for the Disco on a Wednesday as I am Personal Assistant with Personal Freedom Ltd and I myself and my colleague visited here with our clients who wanted to see what the Disco was all about Our clients loved the Disco and that they love the staff too and they found that the staff meet their individual requirements very easily and that they would be quite happy to come here again. Well done to the staff at The Red Admiral, you guys are the best and keep up the fantastic work.

More a play centre than a Pub. To many kids running in and out on busy nights. Although no where else for them to go round there. Youth Centre needed and Parents to run them
