About This Pub

Ah, The Princess Victoria, what a spot it's turned out to be in Shepherd's Bush! I've got to say, from what I've heard and seen, it's one of those places that just nails the pub experience most of the time. The food is a standout – folks are raving about the generous portions and high-quality ingredients, like responsibly sourced fish and dishes that even carnivores might swap for the vegan options. It's all about that great value too, with deals like happy hour making it an absolute bargain. Pair that with the stunning decor and cosy vibe, whether you're chilling in the main bar or out in the garden, and you've got a proper inviting setting for a catch-up with mates. The staff get a big thumbs up for being so friendly and on point, really adding to the warm welcome. And if you're in for the night, those boutique rooms sound like a dream, with gin-inspired designs and all the comforts you need. But, to keep it real, there was that one review where the Sunday roast fell a bit flat, with a tense atmosphere and staff seeming a tad unsure – it's not the norm, mind you, given the high ratings, but it's worth noting if you're planning a special occasion. Overall, I'd say it's a solid choice for a memorable night out, as long as you go in with an open mind and perhaps avoid the roasts if you're feeling picky!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is simply outstanding – think generous portions with top-quality ingredients from small British producers, and it's especially great value with those fantastic discounts like half-price Tuesdays.
  • The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, with beautiful decor, a cosy traditional feel, and nice outdoor spaces like the heated terrace and courtyard garden for when the weather's on your side.
  • Staff are really friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make sure you're having a good time, whether you're popping in for a drink or hosting an event.
  • They've got an impressive selection of drinks, including over 100 gins, real ales, and a cracking wine list, perfect for a relaxed evening.
  • If you're staying over, the hotel rooms are a treat – luxurious, individually designed, and named after gin cocktails, with comfy beds and thoughtful touches like Nespresso machines.
Cons
  • One recent visit mentioned a rather average Sunday roast with a tense atmosphere, which might put a dampener on things if you're after that perfect weekend vibe.
  • In that same review, the staff came across as a bit unsure and confused, so service might not always be spot on, though most folks seem to have had a great experience.
  • It's a shame the operating hours aren't clearly listed, which could make it tricky to plan your trip, especially if you're coming from further afield.

Best Food in West London – Hidden Gem! I can honestly say this pub serves the best food in West London. The quality is outstanding, the portion sizes are incredibly generous, and the value for money is almost too good to be true – especially with the amazing discounts they offer. You’d expect to pay double for food this good! Special shoutout to Shalom, who is the most amazing waitress – warm, attentive, and genuinely cares about making your experience perfect. The whole team is so lovely and personable, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Also a huge bonus: it’s super dog friendly, which just adds to the relaxed, homely vibe. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Went there last Friday and had such a great time. The pub itself is beautiful, and the food was genuinely amazing. We got there just as happy hour was happening, absolute steal for the quality of drinks and snacks. The weather was perfect, which added to the whole vibe. The staff were lovely whenever they had a moment to chat or check in, which we really appreciated. Con: Ive worked in hospitality and it was clear they were short-staffed, and still, they handled everything so well. What was a bit upsetting, though, was seeing how some customers treated them. A couple of people who claimed to be regulars caused a scene because they missed happy hour by a few minutes. The staff and manager handled it gracefully, but honestly, no one deserves that kind of treatment. Would definitely go again tho I hope the team gets more support, because they’re doing an amazing job under pressure.

We had our engagement party at The Princess Victoria and it was absolutely perfect. The venue is stunning, the food was delicious, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating—nothing was too much trouble. We also stayed the night and the room was lovely with a super comfy bed. Everything ran so smoothly and we felt really well looked after. Couldn’t recommend it more for a special occasion! Thank you guys!

Writing about my experience 3 months ago, so maybe things have changed since then but: An average Sunday roast, nothing to write home about. The decor of the pub was nice, but the atmosphere seemed quite tense. The staff also had a confused air about them, and never seemed quite sure about what they were doing which left us unable to feel truly comfortable while eating. They weren’t also very attentive. Overall not a bad experience, but I won’t be a repeat visitor.

Recently visited and was thoroughly impressed! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The decor was cozy and traditional, with great pieces of artwork all over the walls. What really stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Our lovely server Shalom, was knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. Food was top-notch! We ordered a few different dishes to share, and everything was delicious. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great pub experience.
