About This Pub

Ah, The Picture House in Leighton Buzzard – it's one of those places that just feels like a reliable go-to for a laid-back evening out. I have to say, the food really impressed me; we tucked into some cracking chicken goujons, wings, and fish and chips that were spot on, all for a price that won't break the bank. It's especially nice to see they do proper Sunday roasts and a range of cocktails that go down a treat. The beer garden is a highlight too – imagine sitting out there on a warm day with a pint and maybe the dog in tow, soaking up the atmosphere. They've got plenty going on with live sports on multiple screens and events like DJ nights, which makes it lively without being overwhelming. On the flip side, though, I did notice that waiting for food can drag on a bit, even if the place isn't packed, and the beer options aren't always as varied or perfectly served as you'd hope. Still, it's a solid choice for a casual catch-up; just keep expectations realistic, and you'll likely have a great time. Overall, it's got that community feel that's hard to beat for everyday pub fun.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious and such great value – you can get a meal for two with drinks for just over £20, which is a bargain these days!
  • They've got a lovely beer garden that's perfect for relaxing on a sunny afternoon, and it's even dog-friendly so you can bring your four-legged friend along.
  • Loads of screens showing live sports like football and rugby, making it a brilliant spot for catching the big games with mates.
  • The atmosphere is vibrant with regular events like DJ nights and a pool table for some fun entertainment.
  • They offer a solid selection of cocktails and real ales, plus family-friendly options with good food served all day.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit slow at times, even when it's not too busy, which might leave you waiting longer than expected for your food.
  • The beer selection isn't always spot on – sometimes not all the taps are in use, and a pint might not be at the right temperature, which is a shame.
  • Food is tasty but can feel a tad generic, like standard chain pub fare, and things like steaks might come out overcooked if you're not specific.
  • It has that typical pub chain vibe, so if you're after something more unique or cosy, it might not quite hit the mark.

Amazing food at amazing prices! We got 2 starts and 2 mains and 2 drinks for just over £20. We had the chicken goujons, wings, fish and chips and BBQ chicken, with a side of waffle fries which were incredible! Highly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼

I have only really been on a week day or to watch football, which narrows the experience. There are loads of TV's so there are ample opportunities to see the games, plus a large screen TV. The food is generic, don't get me wrong it is cooked well, but very much chain pub food. The beer selection is good and is reasonably priced, I have not had to wait long for service when visiting. The staff are welcoming.

Came here first time. Nice place inside. Food tasted good but my stake was a little too weldone. Latte tasted great. My wife enjoyed her chicken and cheese baguette. My main critic is it too took a bit long to receive our food and it wasn't that busy. I will return as the food tasted good and hopefully will receive food a bit quicker.

These guys do a nice pint of lager and ale on the right day. Despite having 5 odd ale taps however, only two max seem to be on. Usually I miss out on a good one. I did find their London pride to be almost at draught lager temperature which ruined the taste for me. Did try scrum down by tring a few days later which was incredible! As for food, I’ve eaten here once and I’d say the food is decent! I ordered a 10oz steak with chips, rings, peas and a tomato. The food came out very fast, piping hot and delicious. Well worth a stop here for a quick lunch/meal out for sure!

We had a lovely dinner in the garden. The pitcher of cocktails was enjoyable. The meals were well proportioned and cooked. The chips were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sundaes were relish too.
