About This Pub
Ah, The Park Tavern, what a lovely little find in Macclesfield! From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, it's got this inviting, traditional pub feel that just draws you in, with a fantastic range of ales that are always spot on. I love how they've thrown in that boutique cinema upstairs for a bit of variety – imagine settling in for a film after a pint or two, it's such a clever touch. The food's another highlight; those homemade scotch eggs and pork pies sound absolutely delicious, and it's great to see options for something lighter too. Plus, being dog-friendly makes it even more appealing for those of us who like to bring our furry mates along. But, to keep it real, it does have its quirks – a few have mentioned it can come across as a tad exclusive, like it's more for the local crowd, so if you're new to the area, you might need to break the ice a bit. Still, with such high praise overall, I'd say it's well worth a visit for a proper, enjoyable pub experience, as long as you're up for a bit of mingling.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The selection of ales and beers is top-notch, with plenty of cask and keg options that really hit the spot for a proper pint.
-
It's got such a warm and friendly atmosphere, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in – and it's brilliant for dogs too!
-
They've got a unique little cinema upstairs for special events, which adds a fun twist to a night out; perfect for catching a film with a drink in hand.
-
The food menu is small but spot on, with tasty homemade options like scotch eggs and pork pies that cater to those wanting something hearty or healthy.
-
Overall, it's a cosy, traditional pub that's managed well and keeps things welcoming for a good crowd.
Cons
-
It can sometimes feel a bit cliquey, like it's more geared towards the regulars, so newcomers might not always feel fully included.
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing with multiple listings, which could lead to some uncertainty about when it's actually open.
-
Based on one experience shared, it might not live up to the 'all-inclusive' promise for everyone, so it's worth going in with that in mind.

A friendly, welcoming , all-inclusive pub....so long as you're 'one of them'
A really good pub , lovely ales and people . There is never any trouble , refreshing and friendly , dog friendly too , GO AND SEE :-)
A few weeks ago, I visited for the first time on a friend's invitation - an evening of good food, a quick game of chess, and a movie at the Pictures in the Park Boutique Cinema on Saturday at 8pm. I absolutely loved it!
The cozy private cinema room on the first floor hosts weekly gatherings run by a passionate Cinematography enthusiasts, making the experience feel both intimate and welcoming for newcomers. My first visit was truly enjoyable, and I was impressed by how friendly the community was.
The ground floor features a lovely traditional pub that is also dog-friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere. Parking along the main road can feel a little tricky, but there's reasonably accessible parking on nearby side streets within a short walking distance.
Highly Recommend!
Quick visit this evening while out for a walk. A great little place, lovely traditional pub look and cosy too. A great selection of cask and keg beers (I tried two and both were great). Pub has a cinema too showing top films weekly. A brilliant place I'd actually class as a hidden gem 👌
Many good local ales on tap and a small but tasty menu. Very nice food with healthy options. Really enjoyed the homemade scotch egg and pork pie. Service was friendly, and dogs are welcome too :)
Will have to visit again for the free cinema upstairs!
