About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Norden Inn – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its friendly vibe and that true Lancashire charm. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff, especially Rob, are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure you feel welcome, which is just what you want on a cosy evening out. The ciders and ales are spot on, and pairing them with a bag of Seabrook crisps sounds like a winner for a relaxed get-together. It's got that homely atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding after a long week. But, and I have to be straight with you, there are a couple of downsides that've cropped up. A few folks have mentioned the owner coming across as a bit brusque, which sadly spoiled things for them and led to early exits. Plus, it doesn't seem to live up to its heyday, with some saying the drink selection has slimmed down, so if you're expecting a full-on beer fest, you might find it lacking. Still, with a solid rating like 4.5, it's clear there's plenty to love, and I'd say it's worth giving it a go to see for yourself – just keep an eye out for those off moments to keep your visit smooth.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home, like you're catching up with old mates.
  • They've got a cracking selection of ciders and ales, perfect for a proper pint or a cheeky tipple.
  • It's a lovely, relaxing spot with a warm atmosphere, ideal for a good chat and enjoying simple snacks like Seabrook crisps.
Cons
  • There have been a few reports of the owner being a bit rude, which can really put a damper on your night out.
  • It seems like the range of drinks isn't what it used to be, so if you're after a wide variety, you might be disappointed.
  • Some visitors have noted a decline in the overall vibe compared to its early days, making it feel a tad inconsistent.

Rob is a friendly guy, and it's a nice place. I had a good chat and a snack (including my favorite Seabrook crisps). Please stop by and experience a true Lancashire welcome.

I dropped in over the weekend for my first visit in a long time. I used to go regularly when it first opened but haven't been for a couple of years now. I'm sad to say that it seems to be a long way from what it was in the early days. The bar used to be full of a range of beers to cater for all tastes and the fridge used to stock an interesting range of local craft beers. We used to enjoy talking to the owner and previous bar man about the selection of wines and beers. This time, there were no craft beers on the bar and the fridge has a few bottles of generic lager and cider. There was 1 hand pump of Wainwrights. Sadly, the atmosphere was poor and everything just seemed a bit tired and sorry. In the absence of anything more interesting, we had a pint of Guinness (which was not on for form) and a G&T which was served with ice but no options for various fruits etc which is pretty much standard these days. I feel sad that I'm writing this as it has such promise as a new bar when it first opened. Hopefully, it can find its former glory again.

Visited for the first time last night and will unfortunately not be coming again. What a shame. the bar itself is lovely and the atmosphere was ok. But The bar man (who I now know is the owner!) was just so rude to a member of our party. And it really spoilt the night. Most of us ended up leaving our drinks and went to another pub local instead. We’re all humans we make mistakes but instead of apologising to my friend and then rectifying his mistake, he was argumentative and refused to even acknowledge what he had done. It’s not the end of the world making two incorrect drinks but the way he dealt with the situation was really unprofessional and made a very awkward atmosphere.
