About This Pub
Oh, The Nags Head is one of those pubs that just pulls you in for a good time, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the chats online, it's got this lively energy with events like disco on Saturdays and karaoke that get everyone up and dancing – perfect if you're in the mood for a singalong and a laugh. The staff sound like absolute gems, especially the landlady who's always on hand with a smile and a bit of banter, making you feel right at ease. And let's not forget the beers; John Smiths is a staple there, which is just spot on for a proper pint. But, on the flip side, it can turn a bit rowdy with loud music and some folks getting carried away with their words, so it's not ideal if you're after a quiet catch-up. No food means you'll need to plan ahead, and there've been a few moans about the wine not being great. All in all, it's a solid spot for a fun night if you're up for the hustle and bustle, but maybe give it a miss if you fancy something more subdued – still, I'd say it's worth popping in for the experience!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is lively and fun, with great events like Saturday disco and karaoke nights that really get the party going.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially the landlady who's full of energy and makes everyone feel at home.
-
They've got a solid selection of beers, like John Smiths, which is always a treat for a classic pint.
-
It's open late into the night, making it perfect for a proper evening out without worrying about closing time.
Cons
-
It can get quite loud at times, with rowdy groups and strong language that might spoil the vibe for a more relaxed visit.
-
There's no food on offer, so you'll have to head elsewhere if you're looking for a bite to eat with your drink.
-
Some experiences involve disruptive behaviour, like overly enthusiastic crowds or even a child running about, which can make it feel chaotic.
-
The wine isn't up to scratch according to a few, so it might not be the best choice if that's your preference.

Really good sometimes.
Can be a bit loud.
Don't do food.
Good town pub, disco Saturday night and karaoke last night.
They do John Smiths.
Worth a visit, definitely yes.
What a little gem. Amazing pub that I have just been told has been taken over. Well, all I can say is that you would think the landlady Lisa has been there for years. She’s amazing fun, full of knowledge and couldn’t do enough for us. We’ve had a great night tonight, bit of singing and dancing. Great pub and staff, would highly recommend.
Very loud music. Even louder group of men. Swearing. The F word was used.
Sadly an alcoholic male who was no problem but sat making droning noises. A child running up and down the length of the pub. Not a good experience. We left after one drink. The wine was not nice either.
The female bar staff did an amazing job as appeared on her own and was kept busy
Would have been a better experience had the goby 20 something was not so loud and obnoxious. Wearing a dress that was three sizes too small. Harassed some poor girl at the bar trying to persuade her to go to a party with her and her friends. Think I’ll try again this weekend and it might be better
