About This Pub

Ah, The Moon Under Water, what a gem of a pub it is in the heart of Boston. I've got to say, it's one of those places that really delivers on the basics – you pop in for a pint or a bite, and you're greeted with swift service and food that's hot and tasty, just like that Leffe Blonde that never disappoints. The staff are an absolute delight, always polite and on hand to make sure you're sorted, which adds such a welcoming vibe to the whole experience. And let's not forget, it's brilliant value; you can enjoy a proper meal and a drink without worrying about the wallet. On the flip side, though, that air con can be a proper bother – it's like sitting in a fridge sometimes, and it doesn't seem to budge no matter what. Plus, it can get a bit sluggish with orders on occasion, and being on the smaller side means it fills up fast, making it feel a tad squished. All in all, it's a solid spot for a relaxed catch-up with mates, especially if you're after something straightforward and affordable, but maybe dress in layers just in case!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is always served quickly and piping hot, making for a satisfying meal without the wait.
  • Drinks are spot on, like that Leffe Blonde which hits the mark every time – classic Spoons quality.
  • Staff are polite and attentive, giving you that warm welcome that makes you feel right at home.
  • It's incredibly good value for money, with excellent prices that won't break the bank.
  • The place is kept clean and tidy, and there's a nice bit of local history to soak in while you're there.
Cons
  • The air conditioning can be a right nuisance, blasting freezing air that you can't escape from, even if you ask.
  • Service can sometimes drag a bit, like when it takes a while to get your order sorted on a quiet evening.
  • It's a tad smaller than your average Spoons, so it gets busy quickly and might feel a bit cramped.

A superb Spoons. Our food was served swiftly and was piping hot. The Leffe Blonde was the usual Spoons high standard. The lady serving us was polite and attentive.

Usually enjoy the pub and the prices are excellent value but the only reason I'm leaving a Review is because of the number of times the air conditioning is blowing freezing air in my direction and there's no getting out of the way and the staff take no notice. Why would I want to sit in a draught? It's insane how it's on in the cold months too. Not just this branch either. Come on Tim, get it sorted.

When i visited this Beautiful and very Modern looking Establishment, I was very Impressed by the Warm Welcome i was given on Saturday just before Lunchtime. I ordered my Food from the Generous menu that they had and ordered my Free drink as well. I had a Pint of Worthington's Bitter. I found a table and sat down. I did not have to wait long, this very Friendly Food & Beverage Server brought to my table, my Food. It was a All Day Brunch that i had fancied. 2 Sausages, 2 Eggs, Baked Beans, Chips, 3 Rashers of Bacon. It was Presented on my plate very Well. I really Enjoyed my Food and Beer. I felt really made Welcome and a very Lovely Atmosphere and really Happy people. This was, one of the Best Wethersppons Pubs i have ever visited. I Totally Recommend You come and visit and Cheer Yourself up. Jonathan/ Peterborough.😁😁😁😁😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It's smaller than your usual spoons, however, gets busy and the staff clearly keep it clean and tidy, I ate there most days for a week so as a returning customer it must be good. Please ensure to read the history in each spoons its useful for local knowledge.
