About This Pub
Ah, The Monton Tap – it's one of those hidden gems in Manchester that just hits the spot for a laid-back evening. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the affordable prices, especially on drinks like Guinness, which makes it a brilliant choice if you're looking to enjoy a few without spending a fortune. The staff really stand out too; they're so approachable and quick to help, like when someone left their bag and it was safely kept for them – that kind of thing restores your faith in people. Plus, the beer selection is spot on, with a variety of ales that change regularly, so there's always something new to try, whether you're into sours or classics. The decor's charming, full of Manchester prints that give it a proper local feel, and there's extra seating upstairs, which is great for groups or if you fancy a bit more space. On the flip side, though, those stairs are a bit of a bother – they're steep, so if stairs aren't your thing, you might want to stick to the ground floor or plan accordingly. Overall, it's a solid spot with a 4.6 rating from heaps of happy visitors, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, as long as you go in with eyes open to the little niggles. It's all about that balance, isn't it?

Cheap Guinness, couldn't ask for better! Nice atmosphere, extra seating upstairs, great prints on the walls all to do with Manchester.
Lovely pub, lovely bar and lovely people. I left my bag and they were so helpful and kept it behind the desk for me. Top place and will come back!
The Monton Tap is a fantastic local pub with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making you feel right at home. Their selection of drinks is impressive, catering to all tastes. Whether you're enjoying a quiet pint or catching up with friends, this place is perfect. It's also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Great place. Everyone so friendly, small outdoot seating area. Very steep stairs so be aware of this if struggle with mobility issues. Great variety of ales. Guy who runs it seems a thoroughly decent chap.
Great selection of beer, always changing. Even the odd sour beer. Great place to sit and watch the world go by and a regular spot of ours.
