About This Pub
Ah, The Manchester – it's one of those classic Blackpool spots that really knows how to cater to a crowd, whether you're popping in for a quick pint with mates or bringing the family along for some fun. I have to say, what stands out is how family-friendly it is upstairs, with that ball pool and arcade keeping the kids happy while you enjoy the views of the seafront and maybe catch a bit of live sport on the telly. The food's your typical pub fare, done right at reasonable prices, and on a sunny day, that massive beer garden is just the ticket for a relaxed afternoon. But let's be straight, it's not all roses; I've heard from a few that the staff can be hit or miss, and there are times when things feel a tad grubby, like sticky floors or that musty whiff that puts a dampener on things. Still, with all the events they host, from footie to parties, it's got that energetic buzz that makes it worth a visit if you're in the area – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a good time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's a fantastic spot for families, with a dedicated family bar upstairs that includes a ball pool for the little ones, a mini arcade, and even great seafront views to keep everyone entertained.
-
If you're into sports, they've got loads of screens showing everything from Premier League footie to rugby and Formula 1, making it a proper haven for match days.
-
The beer garden is one of the biggest on the promenade, ideal for soaking up the sun with a cold pint and enjoying the Blackpool vibes.
-
Prices are moderate, so you can grab some solid traditional pub grub without breaking the bank, and they've got options for private hire if you're planning a get-together.
Cons
-
Some folks have mentioned the staff can be a bit off-putting at times, which takes away from the overall experience if you're hoping for a warm welcome.
-
Cleanliness is a mixed bag – a few reviews point out dirty tables, sticky floors, and even a fusty smell, so it might not always feel as fresh as you'd like.
-
The atmosphere can vary; it's buzzing for parties and events, but if it's quiet, it might come across as a bit dated or less inviting for a relaxed visit.

Unpleasant staff, dirty tables and a sticky floor.
Well placed and you can't miss it but honestly just walk on by it's a proper dive. There are some good places to sit and have a drink in Blackpool but you should probably stick to the bigger well known places especially if you have children. Sadly Blackpool isn't what it was even just 3 decades ago, the accommodation varies but most B&Bs are unacceptable while premium hotels are much more like it. Like this pub Blackpool has hit the skids and next time I take a break at least I know one place I shall never even consider.
Came here as a family of four our kids are abit older but good if you have little ones with the indoor soft play. Nice views of the prom and husband very happy with his ice cold pint. Would come again.
A very good bar in the center of Blackpool with friendly staff would recommend a visit if in the area.

Went upstairs for food, typical pub menu. Order at the bar. Great place if you have kids. Lot's of screens for footie. Smells a bit fusty. Food was ok. Personally, I would try somewhere before going back.
Looked a great pub. We picked a quiet lunch time to pop in for a drink. It does get very busy at weekends and during holiday seasons. There is a good selection on the menu. Maybe when more time on my hands I will stop in for a meal. Looked very clean and the lady behind the bar was very helpful.
