About This Pub
Ah, The Lordship Pub – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem in London, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the food; it's all about fresh, seasonal British ingredients that make every meal feel special, whether you're tucking into a hearty dinner or something lighter in the garden. The service stands out too – the team seems genuinely chuffed to help, especially if you're planning something big like a wedding, where they've got stories of smooth-running days and attentive staff who keep everything ticking over without a hitch. The atmosphere is another winner; it's got that relaxed, rustic feel with plenty of space to unwind, and I love that they've got options for private hires or just a quiet drink outdoors. On the flip side, it's not the most straightforward for families – you'll have to jump through a few hoops if you've got kids or dogs, as some areas aren't kid-friendly and bookings need a bit of extra communication. Oh, and do keep an eye on the opening times, as things wrap up earlier some evenings, which might cramp your style if you're after a late one. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out or a special occasion, but it's worth weighing up those little niggles to make sure it suits what you're after.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is absolutely spot on – fresh, seasonal ingredients and beautifully cooked dishes that really hit the spot.
-
The service is top-notch; the team is friendly, attentive, and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, especially for special events like weddings.
-
It's a brilliant venue for gatherings, with a spacious bar, dining room, and a lovely courtyard garden that's perfect for relaxing with a drink on a sunny day.
-
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a rustic charm that makes it ideal for everything from casual dinners to private hires.
-
They're dog-friendly, which is great if you're popping in with your furry friend, as long as you let them know in advance.
Cons
-
There are some restrictions for families; certain areas aren't suitable for children, and you'll need to sort bookings directly if you've got little ones in tow.
-
Booking for larger groups or with specific needs can be a bit of a faff, as it's not all done online – you might have to email or call, which isn't always convenient.
-
The pub has varying hours, and the kitchen closes earlier on some days, so it might not be the best for late-night visits.

We were incredibly fortunate to have been able to hold our wedding meal at The Lordship. From the early planning stages through to the actual day itself we received nothing but exemplary service, friendliness and accommodations from Andrew, Chris and the team. They truly helped make our day the success it was. We are delighted we chose this gem for our wedding and would wholeheartedly recommend it to other couples
We recently celebrated our wedding at The Lordship, and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. The staff were brilliant—attentive, organised, and somehow managed to keep everything running smoothly without breaking a sweat.
The food was top-notch—beautifully cooked, packed with flavour, and had guests debating whether it was acceptable to ask for seconds at a wedding. The wine selection was equally impressive, ensuring no glass stayed empty for too long.
Beyond that, the venue had just the right mix of charm and character, creating the perfect setting for the day. Everything felt effortless, and we couldn’t have been happier. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate in style, The Lordship is a fab choice.

In the late afternoon, the pub fills with the most beautiful, warm light – ideal for those golden-hour moments. The food is fantastic, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the whole experience. If you’re looking for a spot with charm, character, and a relaxed feel, The Lordship is a brilliant choice!

After visiting a few times for dinner and enjoying the delicious food, we decided to hold our wedding reception at the Lordship in October. The food is always top notch and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The Lordship has a lovely atmosphere and everyone was so helpful when we were planning our big day. We had so many guests contact us after the wedding to say how much they enjoyed the food & the venue. Would highly recommend!
The natural light flooding into the space from the ceiling is AMAZING! The space is intimate and rustic, and the food and service was great! The pub already has really nice decorations and is kept really clean so even without a lot of decorations the space looks complete and ambient. I really recommend this place for wedding reception!
