About This Pub
Ah, The Ivory Peg – it's one of those Wetherspoon spots that you pop into for a cheeky pint and a bite without spending a fortune, and honestly, it's spot on for that. The drinks are always reasonably priced, and I love how you can just whip out the app to order; it makes everything so straightforward and gets your food out quickly. The space is generous too, with loads of seats, so you can find a cosy corner or a table for the group. On the brighter side, the staff are often up for a chat and will pop over to check if you're sorted. But, let's be real, it's not all roses – sometimes the food doesn't hit the mark, like when a burger turns up overcooked with bits of gristle, or eggs that are a bit too runny for comfort. And the service can be hit or miss; you might get your meal dumped on the table with no offer of sauces or anything extra, which is a bit of a downer. Plus, it can get noisy, especially if it's busy, so if you're after a quiet catch-up, you might want to think twice. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening on a budget, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and focus on the good vibes.
Pros and Cons
Pros

Inexpensive drinks and food make it a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly night out.
-
The pub is spacious with plenty of seating options to choose from.
-
Ordering through the app is a real winner – it's quick, easy, and gets your drinks and food to you in no time.
-
Staff can be friendly and attentive, checking in to make sure everything's alright.
Cons
-
Food quality varies; some dishes like burgers might be poorly cooked with gristle or runny eggs that aren't quite right.
-
Service can feel a bit lacking, with meals just plonked down without any extras or follow-up, leaving you to hunt for cutlery and condiments.
-
It can get pretty loud inside, which might make it tough for a proper chat over your pint.
-
The toilets and other facilities are a tad underwhelming, not up to scratch for a comfortable visit.

Cheap beer and food from the menu and no complaints.
I ordered the burger and it came out, and was basically dropped on the table.
No extra service, no asking if I needed anything else, I had to go hunting for cutlery and condiments.
The burger itself was poorly cooked and filled with nasty gristle... Definitely low quality meat, and the chips weren't properly cooked either, still tasted raw.
The pub itself was dirty and smelly, and the tables were filthy.
Definitely not coming back and I'd advise you skip this one unless you want the cheapest possible experience.
EDIT: A few hours later, I'm now experiencing stomach issues! - I knew that burger wasn't cooked right!
AVOID. AVOID. AVOID!!!
Food and service was good but can be very loud. Drinks are cheaper when compared to other pubs
Food was Wetherspoons standard, noce runny eggs although they had split open. Food came out before the drink which is unusual, the person serving food did acknowledge this and got my drink sorted for me.
Books, although Ive never seen anyone read them. The toilets are underwhelming, particularly for a Wetherspoons. They have ship doors.
There is no smoking area for this Wetherspoons which means people stand outside, but by the doors and smoke and the smell and smoke come in the pub. Eurgh.
Lovely spacious pub.....
Ordered through the app which was brilliant. Plenty of space and different seats available. We placed our orders on the app and within a few minutes the drinks arrived shortly followed by the food. The waiter was very friendly and checked in after we had started.
There are a few local characters in there but it had a friendly atmosphere. Plenty of choice on food and drink, of course with all spoons the prices were excellent! I had the veggie breakfast and it was super!
