About This Pub

Ah, The Fox in Twickenham – it's one of those spots that really knows how to pull in a crowd with its warm atmosphere and top-notch service. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are just gems; they're polite, professional, and go out of their way to make your visit memorable, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or booking for a special event. The drinks selection is spot on too – think refreshing ciders and tasty cocktails that pair perfectly with their bottomless brunch deals, which sound like an absolute bargain for a fun day out. And let's not forget the live music on weekends; it adds that extra spark that makes the place feel alive and inviting. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect – a few folks have mentioned the food falling short, with some meals coming across as overpriced and lacking in quality, like that tandoori chicken that's more disappointing than delightful. Still, if you're after a good chat and some decent brews in a cosy setting with outdoor options, it's worth a visit, but maybe skip the full meal and keep it to drinks for the best experience. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back get-together, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home, like chatting with old mates.
  • They've got a cracking selection of craft beers, cocktails, and ciders that go down a treat, especially on a sunny day.
  • Live music at the weekends adds a fantastic vibe, perfect for a relaxed evening out with friends.
  • The bottomless brunch is brilliant value, with delicious drinks and food that keeps everyone coming back for more.
  • There's a lovely outdoor beer garden and street seating, ideal for soaking up the atmosphere on warmer days.
Cons
  • The food can be a bit disappointing – some dishes feel overpriced and not quite up to scratch, like dry chicken that's more style than substance.
  • Prices are on the moderate side, but when the food doesn't deliver, it might leave you wishing you'd just stuck to the drinks.

Staff are lovely, and this pub is a great place to get a drink, chat to friendly people and listen to live music at weekends. BUT, it is owned by the private equity group TDR, so profit comes above quality - the food is cheap tasting and hugely overpriced - £16 for 6 dry cubes of "tandoori" chicken, a bit of lettuce with a very light sprinkle of tiny cubes of flavourless tomato, and a small handful of fries is daylight robbery. That and the rest... So, if you have to, go for the company and a laugh, but avoid the food (there are lots of other food outlets along church road that offer much better quality food and value for money) and try to find somewhere that isn't owned by a group registered in the Cayman islands. 😔

Sophie is an absolute gem, and Is a credit to “Team Fox” 🦊 I popped in several weeks ago, enquiring about booking a space for an upcoming event. Even though it was a weekday early lunch time, she was fairly busy with food orders.. She was polite, professional, engaged (and had a great sense of humour) whilst i was bombarding her with questions. Sophie juggled it all excellently! I popped in again this evening, to ask a few more questions, she recognised me immediately (probably because I was a nightmare on my previous visit 🤣) and even though she wasn’t expecting us (and she wasn’t actually working the bar) she made time to listen to us and was thorough and efficient In answering all that we asked! Thank you so very much Sophie :) What a brilliant pub! Ps. The “dirty doughballs” were excellent too!

Me and a couple friends came in for the bottomless brunch, and were not left disappointed! The food was incredible all round, and the cocktails were amazing, especially at this price point. The servers at the fox were friendly, attentive and made the experience even better. We were served by Sophie, Matt, and Tom - with Sophie really making the experience especially great! We will definitely return and would recommend the Fox to anybody in the area and otherwise. Thank you so much to the team!

I came to this place one afternoon for a meal and some drinks. The pub extends quite far back and boasts an outdoor courtyard with plenty of seating, along with tables on the street at the front. I went for a refreshing Inches cider, which was perfect for a hot summer's day. As for food, I opted for the 1kg of wings! They were absolutely delicious and a real feast for any chicken wing lover. I would definitely revisit if I happen to be in the area. Thank you for a wonderful evening, Fox Twickenham!
