About This Pub

Ah, The Eaton Cottage – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper British hideaway, you know? From the reviews I've seen, folks are raving about the excellent beer and the genuinely friendly service that makes you want to linger for another round. I love how it's got something for every mood, whether you're up for cheering on the footie with mates on the big screens or settling into a secluded spot for a quiet chat. And being inexpensive, it's perfect for a casual get-together without breaking the bank. On the downside, it's not the most central location, so you might need to plan your trip a bit if you're not local, and that classic, nostalgic atmosphere might feel a touch old-fashioned to those after something more modern. All in all, if you're after an honest, down-to-earth pub experience, it's well worth a visit – just go with the right crowd in mind!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer is spot on and the service is always warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home.
  • It has that lovely old-school charm, like stepping back in time to a traditional British pub.
  • There's a great mix of spaces, from areas with big screens for watching the footie to cosy, quiet rooms for a more relaxed vibe.
Cons
  • It's a bit out on the edges of the city, so it might not be the easiest spot to get to if you're coming from the centre.
  • The traditional feel could come across as a tad outdated for some, and it might not suit everyone for a fancy night out.
  • Without a website, it's not straightforward to look up details like the menu or any upcoming events.

Old school pub with good beer and friendly welcome. Plenty of screens to watch the footie.

Proper traditional multi-room pub with a huge TV screen cinema section, a normal lounge area plus a secluded comfy quiet room with no screens or bar. Something for everyone. If I lived 'round here, I'd be here every night!
