About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Dolly Peel, it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles with its old-school charm and welcoming vibe. From what I've heard from folks who've been there, it's got this nostalgic feel that takes you back to simpler times, with a cracking selection of beers like that Timothy Taylor Landlord that's always a winner. The staff are dead friendly, making sure everyone feels at ease, and that snug area out back is just the ticket for a proper chinwag with mates on a chilly evening. It's reasonably priced too, which is a bonus, and it's even dog-friendly for those who like to bring their furry friends along. On the downside, it's not exactly packed out like it might have been years ago, so if you're after a buzzing night with loads of energy, you might find it a bit subdued. Still, for a relaxed pint and a catch-up, it's a real gem in South Shields – I'd say it's worth popping in for the atmosphere alone, as long as you're in the mood for something low-key and genuine.

Gem of a lovely old pub. Nowhere near as busy as in it's heyday but it is still open.!! Lot of nostalgia here for me.

Cosy pub with a snug back room. Warm friendly staff and cold pints. They had an interesting show on 80s music on the telly. Definitely recommend.
