About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Crown, it's got that real homely feel that makes you want to settle in for the evening. The staff are absolute gems – one person raved about how they handled their allergy needs so thoughtfully, which is brilliant if you're someone with dietary concerns. It's also spot on if you're out with the dog; that little enclosed garden is a nice touch for a bit of fresh air. The prices are fair, and the beer and spirits are top quality, so you get good value without feeling short-changed. On the other hand, it does have its downsides – I've heard a few tales of it getting a bit too boisterous with some groups, leading to swearing and noise that can spoil the mood if you're after a relaxed chat. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint with friends, especially if you're local, but it might be worth checking the vibe on busier nights to ensure it's just right for you.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and always go the extra mile, like handling allergy requests with real care and cooking separate meals to keep things safe.
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly with a small enclosed garden, making it a great spot to relax with your furry friend.
  • Prices are spot on for a pub of its calibre, with excellent quality beer and spirits that won't break the bank.
  • The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy, perfect for catching up with family or mates, and there's handy outside seating for when the weather's nice.
Cons
  • It can get a bit rowdy at times with some groups getting carried away, which might disrupt that peaceful vibe you're after.
  • There have been instances of loud swearing from certain crowds, making it less ideal if you're hoping for a quiet evening.

Great place if you have an Allergy request. I am allergic to peas and they cooked my own veg away from all vegetables, if you have allergies please let them know, and you will be in safe hands. Great food, friendly service and a wonderful atmosphere for all family and friend.

A decent pub with side sides to the a bar plus an outside seating area, the price are really good and the quality of the beer and spirits are excellent.

Used to love sitting in the lounge having a nice quiet drink. They now let in kids that have drank way too much and continue to serve them. Had enough of listening to loud swearing so went to Anne of Cleaves instead. A great shame :(

A really nice Pub, all the drinks were fresh and enjoyed. Didn't feel uncomfortable each time we have visited (old bloke out for a drink with daughter and partner).Looks like it may become my new local.
