About This Pub

Ah, The Crofters Arms – it's one of those classic pubs in Liverpool that you can't help but appreciate for its community spirit and the way the team goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. I've heard from a few mates that the staff are just top-notch, always cheerful and on point, which really sets the tone for a relaxed evening. They're all about fresh, quality ingredients in their meals, and the value for money on things like those sizzling skillets and burgers is spot on, especially with the daily offers. Plus, it's nice to see them pitching in for local causes, making it feel like a proper neighbourhood gem. On the downside, though, it's not all smooth sailing – some folks have had a tough time with the food, like it not quite hitting the mark or running out of options mid-service, which can put a damper on things. Still, if you're popping in for a pint and a catch-up with friends, it's worth giving it a try; just keep expectations in check for the grub and focus on the good company. Overall, it's got that charming pub essence, but like any place, it's got its ups and downs.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home with their warm welcomes and attentive service.
  • They use fresh ingredients for their menus, including vegan and vegetarian options, and offer great value with daily deals on sizzling skillets and burgers.
  • It's a real community hub in Liverpool, supporting local charities and providing a cosy atmosphere for relaxing with friends or watching the game.
Cons
  • Food quality can be inconsistent, with some dishes turning out disappointing or not living up to the menu's promises, like tasteless curries or items running out.
  • There have been reports of waits or shortages, which might leave you a bit frustrated if you're after something specific.
  • Recent feedback suggests the overall experience isn't always as reliable as you'd hope, even if the staff are brilliant.

Just a Sunday drop in .. remembered nice veggie sausage and mash from last time, so ordered again. And waited with my partner at our table for a bit. Then I was told by the waitress that there were no veggie sausages left! Just my luck! However .. the waitress was absolutely lovely, calming and caring personality.. offered RAINBOW LASAGNE with garlic bread and chips. Yup, ill have that. Was a nice meal. Enjoyed. My partner loved the prawn starter thing she got. And we proper fought over the apple pie and custard Anyway .. the reason i am writing is the service. I dont know the waitress's name .. but she's on my Christmas card list! Well done. SORRY .. this was supposed to be 555 star .. but it loaded when pressed on first star. Touch screens eh! No worries on run out sausage .. lazzy was nice. But ill be back .. so stock up bud :)

First time visiting here and certainly not in a hurry to return unfortunately. Rated 2 stars because as bad as it is the greeter was a lovely lady, can tell she really tries her best to make you feel welcome but as lovely as she is 2 stars is as generous as I can give based on the whole package.

Wow, the worst food I've ever been present with. The wife was also in agreement. The menu looks fantastic but when it comes you'll be in for a shock. Opted for the larger curry feast which was marketed as having a naan bread (about 4 x 2 inches and really thin), samosas which were tasteless along with the poppadom. The Tikka sauce was more like a watery soup served with what looked like boil in the bag rice. The chicken pieces looked vile. The only thing that wasn't inedible was the chicken skewer which was actually alright but just 4 small-medium sized chicken chunks on it. The kids pizza was a microwaved Chicago town one which I could have ignored if the adult mains were edible. Should have known as the place was empty so our fault. Came home hungry

The atmosphere was great, even from the outside. And then unquestionably the best thing about the whole experience was our waitress Wendy, a competent, truly kind, attentive woman. I'd travel all the way back to Roby just to see her again. Incredible service, and the food was very nice too!
