About This Pub

You know, chatting about The Cricketers feels like recommending a mate's local; it's that kind of place where everything just clicks. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real standout – folks rave about the home-cooked meals and how the chefs nail everything from hearty lunches to desserts that hit the spot. The staff? They're gems, always friendly and on point, making sure you're looked after without being over the top. It's got all the classic pub charms too, like a snug bar area, a beer garden for when the weather plays nice, and plenty of goings-on with live sports and quiz nights that add a fun edge. Being in the heart of Leamington Spa, it's spot-on for a casual meet-up or a family gathering, and it's ace that it's dog-friendly as well. On the flip side, it does get packed at times, so planning ahead is a must, and while the prices are fair for what you get, they might add up if you're not splashing out on a full session. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint or a bite, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a brilliant time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant – home-cooked meals and traditional dishes like ham, egg, and chips that are done to perfection, with options for vegetarians and a cracking Sunday roast.
  • Staff are so friendly and attentive; they're always up for a chat and make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or a full meal.
  • It's got that cosy, traditional pub atmosphere with a Victorian bar, a beer garden for sunnier days, and even live sports, quiz nights, and events to keep things lively.
  • A great selection of award-winning real ales and cocktails, plus it's dog-friendly and welcoming for families, making it a versatile spot for all sorts.
  • Handy location in Leamington Spa, close to the train station and the town centre, perfect for a stop-off after exploring or before heading out.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy, especially on weekends, so you might need to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • With moderate prices, it might feel a tad pricey if you're just after a simple drink, though the quality makes it worth it for a proper meal.

Traditional pub serving great traditional food. The staff are fantastic and care about the food and beer they serve. Thoroughly enjoyed the time spent both inside in the Victorian bar and outside in the beer garden. Highly recommended. Will be back. Wish it was my local…..

Booked a table on a Saturday lunch time and glad we did as many tables were booked all 4 of us ordered different meals and all served within 20mins. Great service and choices on the menu and fantastic location to explore Royal Leamington spa.

Had a mini family get together which included lunch. Easy to book a table and great atmosphere when we arrived. The service is fantastic, so friendly & helpful, nothing is too much bother. Various options were had for lunch and the food was sublime (chefs that actually know how to cook & serve vegetables, especially important with our Sunday roasts). A superb pub in every aspect. We always come here every time I’m here on the canal. Thanks to all the staff.

Visiting Leamington for the day and came here as it was close to the train station. Fairly priced pub with a good selection of beer. Staff member by the name Chris was excellent and very friendly towards us. Would be happy to come back if we're ever in the area again.
