About This Pub
You know, chatting about The Cmon Inn feels like sharing tales over a pint – it's got this genuine, old-school appeal where the regulars create a real sense of community, and the staff can be absolute gems when they're in the right mood. That said, it's not all rosy; I've heard from a few mates that if you're not a familiar face, you might get the brush-off, which is a bit of a downer in this day and age. There are also grumbles about the place not being as clean as it could be and some staff coming across as less than friendly, potentially spoiling the experience. Overall, if you're up for a proper local haunt with its quirks, it might be worth a try, but go in with your eyes open to avoid any surprises – it's all about weighing that homely feel against the rough edges.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's got that classic community vibe, with friendly regulars who are always up for a good chat and make you feel right at home if you're a local.
-
From what some folks say, the staff can be wonderfully kind and welcoming, creating a cosy spot for a pint and a catch-up.
Cons
-
It seems a bit exclusive, with stories of visitors being turned away just for not being from the area, which can leave you feeling a tad awkward.
-
There are mentions of rude staff and poor conditions, like dirty facilities and a less-than-ideal atmosphere that might put you off.
-
A few accounts suggest discriminatory behaviour, which is disappointing and could make certain groups feel uncomfortable.

This was one of the best pubs in east Kilbride sadly it's no longer open anymore me and my friends started drinking here when we turned 18 was a small local pub with the same regular everyday. Everyone was lovely unbelievably kind and welcoming all the older regulars were always up for a chat and a laugh they never gave us dirty looks or ever made us feel unwelcome they understood that the pub needed the younger people to bring it more life and give a chance of staying. I loved the place and I still can't believe that it's closed now hopefully the new people that have bought over the building will bring back the pub as there were alot of guys that went there everyday and have no way of getting to another pub and was there only time to get out of the house and have a laugh. Words can't describe some of the memories and laughs ive had here and no pub will ever come close to it. This was most likely the last legitimate local that was around and it's a shame it's gone. If the new owners ever see this message I beg you please bring back the pub. It has massive potential if renovated properly and advertised correctly.
I was visiting relatives for a few days and decided to walk over for a pint and try out the local ambience. I walked in and was immediately asked to leave as "this is a pub for local people" I left feeling slightly awkward and also laughing a bit as I am not sure having the same business model as Tubbs and Edward from the League of Gentlemen is effective. I could have explained I grew up in the area or that my brother lives just across the road but I didn't want to waste my time bothering and neither should you.
Fantastic pub with a very kind lady running the place but does not suffer fools. I was there the night in question when the so called homophobic incident occurred. The person in question who is claiming the so called homophobic treatment was not exactly sober and is the type of snowflake society unfortunately is creating these days. PLEASE STOP LYING and STOP ENCOURAGING YOUR SO CALLED FRIENDS FROM POSTING DRIVEL. Total entitlement culture. Please visit this place if you get the chance. Simple rules , behave yourself , be courteous and you will have a great time. If you enjoy a lively FRIENDLY atmosphere you have a good night.
Had a terrible experience with 1 particular barmaid that has less than desirable manners , seems to have a problem with young adults trying to have a peaceful drink , and chucking them out for no proper reason, apart from ......WAIT FOR IT !! Leaving the pub to go to their own house and coming back again ????? Unbelievable customer service , unfortunately this member of staff let's the pub down with her terrible, appalling attitude ! Even a customer was disgusted with her attitude and left !!! Well won't be giving them my custom anymore , plenty other better establishment's to have a quiet drink in without hassle from a barmaid with MAJOR chip on her shoulder !! Also seems to have an ageism problem saying to young adults " what you drinking in here for , it's an old man's pub " ! Kept changing her reasons to why she was justifying throwing out people for no good reason , stating " She's a scheme bird from Castlemilk " !!And ???? Get your staff sorted , appalling display of behaviour , obv suited to a backend pub and not a proper respectful establishment that you would expect to go too .
I visited this fetid cesspool ages ago. Worst pub I've ever been to ever. Uncleaned taps/dirty beer. Poor choice of drinks. Filthy toilets. Really quite nasty staff. They let aggressive people stay and drink there. Oh and apparently they throw people out for being gay? Atmosphere sounds great eh?
Not only that. On the occasion this happened that I've been informed of. A staff member also kept the money handed over by the gay lady in question. When she violently threw her out the pub and followed the lady outside, uttering threats. When I went there. It was just a dive bar. Now it seems to also employ and condone the actions of thieving bigots to boot.
Avoid.
