About This Pub
You know, when I think about The Clockwork Rose, it just brings a smile – it's one of those hidden gems in Bristol that really captures the imagination with its Steampunk twist. Picture yourself surrounded by gears, reclaimed artefacts, and that cosy, storybook feel, all while sipping on cocktails inspired by far-off adventures; it's no wonder folks are raving about it with those high ratings. The drinks are a cut above, packed with complex flavours and a personal touch that makes each one feel special, and the team behind the bar are just lovely, always chatting and helping you find your next favourite tipple. But, to keep it real, it's not perfect – the place only opens four evenings a week, so you'll need to check ahead if you're keen on popping in, and with prices on the moderate side, it might stretch the budget for a quick pint. Still, for a memorable night out with mates, it's well worth it; I'd say give it a go if you're after something a bit different, just manage your expectations around the timings.

It's only open four days a week, mostly in the evenings, which means you might have to plan your visit around their schedule and miss out on spontaneous trips.
-
With a moderate price level, it can feel a tad pricey for what you get, especially if you're after something more budget-friendly for a casual night.
-
From some reviews, it seems things can get a bit hectic during busier times, potentially leading to waits or slight dips in service flow.

Loved the atmosphere and the cocktails. We will absolutely be back as need to try more of the venue. The service was brilliant and the staff are so helpful in picking the right cocktail
our favourite cocktail bar in bristol (or even in the world). phenomenal cocktails and lovely people. just want to share some pictures from the past 2 years here. the captain's table was an outstanding experience. thank you kit & danny
The best cocktail place in Bristol !
We came here for post wedding drinks and everything was amazing. The staffs worked tirelessly to the never ending order, while maintaining the unbelievable top standard cocktails. The refill water, clear the glasses very efficiently, extremely helpful and accommodating. They have the best quality cocktails on the menu and knowledge like walking Wikipedia. Must go !
I really, really wanted to give this place five stars, but I just can't. We got a really friendly and welcoming greeting, the decor is just amazing, and combined with the music and drinks selection, it has a great speakeasy vibe that's like stepping back in time. When we visited during a quiet afternoon we thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails and chatting to the bartender. However, when we returned on a busy Friday night, it was a bit of a different experience. The two guys working werr clearly doing their best but really need another member of staff to serve customers. After finishing our drinks we were left waiting 45 minutes before we could order another one - and customers who had arrived looked to be waiting a similar amount of time to receive their drinks. This is just far too long and led to understandable frustration. It's a shame, as the staff are lovely and the cocktails are sublime - some really imaginative and special combinations that we thoroughly enjoyed! It's just let down a bit by the exceedingly slow service when busy. I think we'd go back, but perhaps not on a weekend night.
We were passing and it looked really interesting. Very cool 50-70's style lounge. Nice interesting menu of cocktails and with quite advanced mixing of cocktails. The cocktail I had was a lovely complex flavours and nice to feel some love of the drink made. It's a classy dark and relaxed style bar. (amazing pecan nuts). .
