About This Pub
You know, when you fancy a proper pub outing in Menston, The Chevin Inn really hits the mark in so many ways. It's got this lovely rustic charm, originally from an old farmhouse, and the views over the Wharfe Valley are just breathtaking – ideal for sinking into a comfy spot with a pint and good company. Gary and Lisa have done a cracking job creating a welcoming atmosphere, and the food is a real winner, with hearty, fresh meals made from local produce that leave you satisfied. I love how they've made it dementia-friendly too, which adds a nice inclusive feel for everyone. On the flip side, though, the decor's a bit of a letdown; those baby blue walls and not-so-great prints don't quite live up to the rest of the place, and a few folks have mentioned some dishes coming out a tad dry or salty, like the burgers. Still, with an overall solid rating and that homely vibe, it's definitely worth popping in for a meal or event – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time.

The welcome was warm and friendly and the food was excellent.
I was disappointed with the decor which sounds bizarre I know but the walls are baby blue with awful prints on the wall. It needs a warmer colour, wood burning stove and some good photos of old Otley or the local area, along with modern chairs and tables to match. The pub felt cold with the decor ( and was on the chilly side though I was in a t shirt) and it just didn't match the outside or location. Just my view point.
Dementia friendly and superb food and customer service!
I take my mum out for Sunday lunch twice a month (that's all she can handle). Mum has full on dementia and finds noisy establishments difficult, as the ambient noise distresses her. We have abandoned many a lunch due to the noise levels. I called to make a reservation for Sunday lunch and explained my circumstance. The Managers were so accommodating! They sat us in the quietest area of the pub, and very few people were sat around us. I saw other groups coming in (younger groups), but they were placed elsewhere. The only groups sat around us were of the same age range as mum (so they also wanted a quieter dining experience). The food was lovely, and the atmosphere in the pub was so friendly. Mum even wanted dessert and coffee, which is the first time she has ever asked for this on any of our Sunday outings. Thank you SO much for a a wonderful day with my mum! It will be a day to be treasured. Oh, and we'll be back again soon!
Lovely pub that overlooks the countryside towards Otley. Welcoming staff & with good service. The food is more of a homemade style & portions were generous. The burgers tended to be on the dry side & salty tasting.
We are so happy the chevin has reopened, food and staff are lovely. Obviously just in the process of renovating and bringing the old girl back to life!
